Interesting Times

Well it all went down today, we didn't get paid and we didn't expect to.  So now we have nothing.  No savings, living on credit just to eat, can't pay the rent tomorrow.  The company Phill has worked for, for the past four years is fucked.  130 workers. 130 families who can't pay their bills tonight, some for the past few weeks.  I feel more sorry for them than I do for us. We will be alright, we are going to sell the boat just to get through the next few weeks, and if it comes down to it I will swallow my pride and ask my mother to lend us some money. How humiliating to ask for help at my age?  I know if my father was alive he wouldn't think twice.  Phill will get another job, but it's the short term that is the worry.
I have NEVER been in this situation, even in my lowest times I always had an income of some sort.  Poor Phill feels bad too, he is supposed to be the provider.  And always has been.
Being on my own with the kids makes it worse somehow.

What an absolute nightmare for all of you. How shocking that the company has put all of these families including yours in this terrible situation. I'm so very sorry to hear this news and I feel so helpless as to know what to say or do. The best I can offer is my love and big hugs all round and willing that everything good will be coming your way very soon. Just when things were starting to get better and now this.
Think of this as that infamous cucumber moment, it will be back in your hand soon! XXX

So sorry to hear your about your situation. You need to hot footed down to Centrelink with your head held high. After all you have been tax payers and that is what they are there for when times are tough.

I agree with Gem - surely they must have some sort of emergency payment for this sort of thing. Will he ever get the money and entitlements he is owed - do they have a Union?

This is one time when I can't think of what to say.
Can't begin to imagine what is going through everyone's head.
You take two steps forward and Life takes you one step backward all the time. No Fair. I shit you not!
Sending (((hugs)))
