And the School Year Begins

We went to the doctor to get the results of Josh's tests.  We had to see yet another one, and this one didn't have much command of the English language.  We ascertained that Josh has helicobacter and needs to have some fairly serious medication to get rid of it.  He wasn't even going to look at the ultrasound report until I asked him and then told us Josh has an enlarged, or fatty, liver.  That scared me more than the bug!  We couldn't get any sense out of the doctor, so came home and did our own research.  The fatty liver is probably due to him being overweight so that is fixable, and we are in the process of fixing it.
I was still in shock as Doctor Unintelligible fiddled with the printer and managed to finally print out a script, so didn't get to tell him that Josh cannot swallow any type of pill or tablet.  So we got these three different types of medication, all in pill form.  We mentioned to both Doc Unin, AND Asian Gavin at the chemist that we would have to crush the pills, and empty the capsules and they both just nodded.  We did this the first time, and Josh washed them all down with lots of milk, then promptly threw it all back up.  We then did some more research and found out two of the pills should not be crushed, so then there ensued phone calls and running around to get liquid for one of them, another can be stirred into water till it dissolves and the Amoxil caps are being emptied and mixed with honey.  The side effects are not good.  We got Josh to school for his first day yesterday, but then it was sport and he ended up coming home which was fair enough, it's so bloody hot here, do they have no common sense?

Today was Emily's first day of Year Eleven.  She got up and dressed and seemed happy enough to get going.  We got to school, I had to take Josh in to get his bag which got locked up yesterday for some reason, so he went off to do that, and then everyone descended on Emily and were so kind and supportive and firm with her, she was scared and nervous and said so, but they all made her (and me) at ease and she was gone.  Sindy somehow appeared from nowhere which helped Em as well.  I walked out trying to hold my composure, this day was one I thought I would never see with her.  We have been through so much, it's been such a long journey and I still wasn't sure it was even going to work out.  I had a few tears in the car, then drove on downtown to get Em's sheets and our new towels out of lay by.  As soon as I got home I changed into combat gear and went straight to work in her room.
Before....
And after....

I had only got halfway when I had to go pick up Em for lunch.  I took her to the club.  She was so happy and buoyant and full of hope, she said it wasn't as bad as she thought it would be, and when some of the idiots started the old taunts she just laughed at them, and said it wasn't a forced laugh or a defense mechanism she just saw them as being so stupid.  She had texted me at recess wondering if was coming to get her, and I took a chance and ignored her. When I got to school to get her at lunch time she had been sitting with Sindy and forgot I was going to pick her up!  She didn't have to go back this afternoon but I didn't want her to come home, I wanted to have her room done as a surprise for her, like a "room reveal".  But I ended up telling her and she came home and she sorted out all her clothes while I finished the room.  She even wanted to tear down all the posters, which we did.  The walls look really bare, but I got some wall sticker thingies on ebay tonight.
I stripped her bed, washed her lamby magnet underlay, even her electric blanket, and aired her doona, washed her doona cover and pillow cases and aired her pillows, and sprayed them and her mattress with linen spray.  We put her new sheets on her bed and pinched the red rug from the tv room in lieu of getting her own rug next week.  She told me I was a "miracle worker" and was so appreciative.
I am buggered and can write no more tonight.
