Emily got herself up yesterday, dressed, had breakfast, tidied her room and made her bed without me even having to speak to her, she just appeared in the kitchen while I was making Josh's school lunch.
Josh is still struggling with the medication, but is pushing through it, even though he feels nausesous a lot of the time (one of the side effects). I continued my work in the house yesterday, getting everything running properly after the long Summer holidays. Got all Em's clothes washed and put away and then went down and did some shopping. I got myself two new tops, some camis for Em to wear under her school blouse which is a bit see through, picked up Josh's new school shirts and the rest of his medication, bought Emily a little happy plant for her room and did some grocery shopping. Emily met me in the supermarket during her lunch time and I drove her back to school, she was so funny hurrying me up so she wouldn't get back late. She is really enjoying school, and is just so happy and it's wonderful to see. She hung out with Sindy after school and they came back here and had a sleepover. Josh and I had steaks for dinner, just the two of us, and we talked and talked. I'm so glad my kids feel they can talk to me.
I was very tired last night, but was still awake at 6am so got up and made tea.
It's no secret that the past few years of drama with Em has taken its toll on me, and now she seems so much better, I am feeling better too, calmer, healthier, and I feel like I have a purpose again, and just NORMAL. You don't appreciate normal until things go pear shaped.
Can't believe it's February already. I lay byed a lovely little gold and diamond ring for Em for her birthday next month. She really wants a "good" ring, and I love buying jewellery for my girls. She is getting a new Mac laptop but I wanted her to have something personal as well for her 17th. The ring has a little heart on top with the diamond in the middle, hope she likes it, I think she will.
Okay I'm off for more tea and then to add a recipe to my recipe blog.

I've been in exactly the same "happy place" that you are when I was doing for my kids and still on occasion ,I go there.
Giving of ones self is so REWARDING. I shit you not!
She is going to LOVE IT!!!!
(((hugs)))
