Pouring with rain all day today but that's okay, the little bit of sun was a teaser for the Spring and Summer to come. And the rain is good for the gardens that are slowly starting to spring to life, well what garden we have here. We're just having frozen beer battered flathead and oven chips and a salad tonight and I was able to go out and pick some of the flat leaf parsley that has sprung out of the old herb garden to put in my homemade tartare sauce. Which is awesome if I do say so myself.
I finally did my pies last night, and had some chicken thigh fillets to use up so made beautiful chicken pies, I will do them again soon and post the recipe on the recipe blog.
I am feeling like a load has been lifted off me, I don't think I realised how much certain situations were getting me down. The stuff with my older kids is now resolved in my mind. There is no fixing that situation, for now anyway, and maybe ever. But to live with the constant disapproval and resentment, which is apparent but never discussed is just soul crushing. I afforded them every opportunity to have it out with me and to clear the air but they never would. They are all adults now and have made their choices.
Also another situation that was weighing heavily has been sorted out, thanks to someone with a big heart and a forgiving spirit. Rough diamond is the term that comes to mind.
We have been talking a lot about leaving here and finding somewhere that will provide more opportunities especially for the kids. I still believe Western Australia is where we should be, indeed we should never have left. We have decided to leave things as they are for the rest of the year and see what job prospects come up for Phill. We could go back to the town we lived in before, he has been offered a good job there but neither of us think it's a good idea, and I think we should hold out for Perth or a coastal area.
We looked at a couple of cars yesterday, and I saw one which I would love but we really have to go for something larger than the one we have for the leg room for all of us. I think we'll need a trip up to Sydney as there is more choice and cheaper cars up there. My oldest nephew and his wife are expecting their second child, a boy, in a couple of weeks so maybe we'll actually get to see them, and my sisters of course.
Remember that old show "Dallas"? I never really watched it back then, but the new one started last night and it was really good. I enjoyed seeing Bobby and JR (had a mad crush on Larry Hagman in his Jeannie days, but who didn't?) and Sue Ellen.
I'm a happy girl this evening. My dear blogger friend Pat is enjoying her life again, and my old fellow blogger, Meg, is back blogging again after a couple of years. And even though it's raining, I'm sitting here in a t shirt and 3/4 tights, the weather is so warm.
It's all good.
