Where will it all end?

Yep we got the kids to school yesterday, both needed a note to be excused from PE, Josh because he's still not really well, and Emily because she claims to have a sore foot.  Also the PE teacher is an arsehole as many are.  She either forgot her note or chose not to take it.  Mid morning Kate gets a text (I don't keep my mobile near me, and pretty much have it turned off when Emily is at school) saying Emily is in the park.  I told her to ignore it and the texts get more dramatic, Emily saying she is being bashed etc etc.  I rang the school and told them, thinking that she is still their responsibility and given that the park is metres away from the school maybe someone can just go down and tell her to get back to school.  The new deputy principal, a woman, says she will call the cops to do a drive through and pick her up.  Turns out she forged my signature on a note to say she could come home at recess.  Why she just didn't come home is anyone's guess, but eventually she did before the police found her.  I was so angry.  All I asked was that she stay at school for Friday, and then she would have a long weekend.  We had words and she pushed my buttons as usual with her abuse.  I tried to walk away but she followed, all the time yap, yap, yapping.  We already had an appointment for another walk through of the new house so I got dressed and Kate and I decided to remove the audience (she was ramping it up by this stage) and we left, with Emily weeping and wailing, the usual MO, in her room.  This was after she said she was leaving home and packing her stuff etc (we wish!).  So we went and got some lunch and then went to the house and had a good look around the backyard, and the guy came and let us in and now I have a better idea of what we have and what we need for it etc.
The plan was to stay away from here until Phill got home at about 3pm but we decided to come home and check on Emily.  When we got inside there was a note on the counter from Emily saying she was "hanging in the shed".  I told Kate she would have to look (brave me huh?) and she ran down while I grabbed the phone.  I heard her say "Emily what are you doing?  Get down"  Relief.  She was standing on one of our dining chairs that I had asked Kate to take down to the tack room earlier as they were cluttering the house, with some whipper snipper cord around the roof beam, a noose around her neck.  Kate argued with her for a bit and tried to remove the noose by force but Emily wouldn't come down.  I called 000 but then Emily told me if I hung up she'd come down so I did.  She didn't and emergency rang me back of course and I told them what was going on.  The police arrived RUNNING into the backyard and by this time Emily had come down and was sitting on the chair.  So we had five police (new ones, nice to meet them) and two ambos in our stables.  The young policewoman was so great and calming and understanding and when I told them Emily's history was astounded that she had never had a psych evaluation.  Apparently if someone threatens to harm themselves or someone else (Emilyhas done both) it is the law that they have to be evaluated.  So it was an involuntary visit to the hospital where the nursing unit manager, and indeed all the nursing staff were just amazingly kind and supportive of us.  The NUM basically said that Emily is seriously fucked up and needs "sorting out".  So there was a video hook up with some quack from Wagga who talked to Emily alone, then inexplicably wanted to talk to Phill but didn't ask for me and then decided Emily was fine and could come home.  Kate and I watched while Emily totally manipulated the whole situation.  First, when they wanted to put her into the children's room right by the nurses' station, where she had been another time when the cops hauled her off, she went off her head saying she had been traumatised in that room.  Josh told me nothing bad had happened to her, she was just pissed off that night because she had to stay there by herself as I wouldn't come and get her.  God knows what she told the quack but we think she just wrote it off as "fighting" between her and me.  Of course it is much more than that but yet again we got no help and came home, to wait for it all to happen again.  Honestly?  Next time I'll let her swing.  So sue me I don't give a shit, I'm so sick of her drama.  Mental health services in this country are fucked, they are getting a lot of funding for doing bugger all.  The advice in the end was to take her to a GP.  For what?  The NUM was really upset that nothing had been done, but her hands were tied and she tried to talk to Em and give her some advice but it fell on deaf ears.
To see her standing on that chair with a noose around her neck was horrible, I'm so glad Kate was here, she is so solid and sensible.  Having her here has also made me see how dysfunctional our lives are.  Phill kept glaring at me at the hospital and he would so love to blame me for everything but knows how stupid that is, and is just giving me the cold shoulder instead.  His being away all the time doesn't help the situation at all, but it's his choice and I can't say I blame him, if I could get away from Emily I would jump at the chance too.  But there is no escape and no answer and no outside help or support at all.
I wonder what will happen to Emily in the long term, where all this will end up.  I left home at age 16 and made my own way, supported myself and didn't cause anyone any problems.  But at least I finished school and was able to get a job.  She will have no education and a serious attitude problem for which, it would seem, there is no help.
On a brighter note, and I am desperate for one, the house is just so great.  We're up on a hill and have lovely views down over the town, including being able to see the rail line and the trains coming and going.  I can't wait to move in.  Wonder if we can move without Emily noticing and not give her the new address?

I have soooooooooooooo been there where you are mentally my friend.
A minister/priest? came to my door years back when son Randy over dosed in jail/prison? on his RX's meds he didn't swallow and saved up and was in bad shape when found in his cell.
Trish I can't tell you the times I thought things, including HE would be better if he died....even to this day.
Don't blame yourself. We are human and our minds need that release.
It's a cry for help that your Emily is making ( these behaviors are not normal ) and unfortunately the people that are supposed to be there for us are USELESS as tits on a boar hog !
She needs med's. Of course no one can force her to take them unfortunately and in or outpatient physche treatment.
One day at a time my friend.
I know your frustrations only too well and the emotions I had back then rise to the forefront as I read your plight.
You and I would be the first one the public blames if something happened and blame us saying, " why didn't we ask for HELP."
What the efffffffffffffff does someone do to get HELP????
(((hugs)))

My God. I just don't know what to say - this is so scary - but good Kate was there... now she will have an idea - how frightening for you - I just hope and will pray in my own way that Em calms down and she's what she has got not dwell on what she thinks she hasn't got

oh my friend, this is all so sad. I read your post and just thought how exhausted you must be. I cannot imagine - I wish I had something useful to say. Hang in there.

As I read your blog I am in shock. I had no idea she was in this state of mind. It sounds like she really does have serious mental health issues, her behaviour is not your normal teenage angst at all.

I really feel for you, having your child turn on you must be totally devastating.
