Barstards

This will be a quickie as we have limited internet at the motel.  We looked at two houses this morning, both crap.  Asked after a few more and the R/E we  had applied to for the one we really wanted rang this afternoon to say we had been blacklisted on a real estate website because of the arrogant horrible real estate we rented from during our time in Junee.  Long story short, they tried to let a pest controller into our house when the kids were home alone (I had gone to the chemist for medicine for Josh) and I called the police who were on our side and visited them at their office.  The pest controller later turned out to be a suspected pedophile.  We were forced to rent through them when we had to leave Sydney and lived in Junee again.  When we moved out they stole our bond money for painting that didn't need to be done (owner and neighbour, the painter, are friends) and a ripped flyscreen that we didn't rip and they wouldn't let us come and fix ourselves.  We are devastated and not sure what this means for our prospective renting.  It's hard to get information here with limited phone and internet.  We immediately paid what we were told we owed the dodgy real estate and now we have to try to get our name off the website.  The amount?  It was $65 but now gone up to $100.  And they got ALL of our bond.  We were going to take them to the tribunal but other stuff got in the way and it seemed that they backed down.  Not so, vindictive horrible people that they are.  They are hated in Junee, we're not the only ones they have shafted, and now there is at last another real estate and it's amazing how many people are listing their homes with that office.
This is not going to beat us.  We are good people and have always been exemplary tenants.  Tomorrow we have no house viewings planned but are going to have a bit of fun, get the kids' haircuts and do some shopping and try not to think about the future too much.
I just want to be home in my own space where we are meant to be.  But on I will go and try to get this all sorted.
I know one thing, the pigs in Junee will be held accountable, I will be looking into how to investigate their actions to get us blacklisted for no good reason.  I won't rest until they pay for what they have done to us, and to many other families down there.
Tamworth is nice, I hope we end up living here.

Bastards - you do this and give them the biggest shake up...the rental board people should be obliged to let someone know when they are black listed and hear their side of the story - this should be obligatory...maybe this could be addressed as well

Thats terrible Trish. You should put it all in writing and send in a letter. We had a similar problem years ago and it turned out that when I contacted the bond board myself. I got my whole bond back. They had not even claimed it as they had no grounding. They have to pay a fee to claim you bond money as they do not actually hold it themselves. If they do, then they are in breach of the law and can get into big trouble. The bond board holds the money in YOUR name, not the owners. Worth looking into. As an owner as well, when I rented out our house in Sydney when we first moved here, the tennants did thousands of dollars damage and we never got a cent back. The real estate turned over their bond, so they could move into another property. Sounds like a bit of dodgy business going on there. You should be able to get your name cleared easily.
