Can't believe it's five years since I became a grandma. Sadly I won't see or talk to Jake as his mother wants no contact with me. I get photos of him through my older daughter but that's about it.
Thanks for the support and comments re yesterday's post. Karisma at the end of the day there is nothing the education department or anyone can do, they pretty much admitted that to me yesterday. They can't prosecute me as I can prove I have done everything possible to get her to go to, and stay at, school. Short of sending a couple of burly cops over in a paddy wagon to drag her to school they can't do a thing. Katy did distance education when we came back to NSW from WA and she asked why I don't enrol Em at that school, it's a lot easier to get the equivalent of our school certificate and higher school certificate in WA. I don't know if that is possible or if Kate could do it because she had been at high school over there.
I am also going to look into a TAFE course for her although it will be limited given where we live. We are seriously considering moving back up north now also. We only came back to Cootamundra because of the school and now they've let us down there is no reason to stay here. We love the north west and I would happily live back at Gunnedah or even Werris Creek. Tamworth is close by and there is a uni and a big TAFE there as well.
Anyway the term is at an end and we're just going to relax and try to forget all about everything for a while. Phill came home early thank goodness so I can have a break from being 100% responsible for everything all the time.

Come to think of it....I got pregnant and married at age fifteen.
I was a dummy then, but I'm no Dummy now.
Got my GED ( High School eqivelant ) around age forty and the rest I learned from The School of Hard Knocks.
We all want better for our kids, but sometimes we have to Roll with the PUNCHES and hang up our gloves.
Much Luck to you and your Emily.
We are all here for you.
She looks so much like you. :0)
....and Happy Birthday Jake.
It must be so hard not seeing your grandchild. I hope that situation turns around somehow.
TAFE might be a good option I found that I was treated as an adult there unlike school where you are just a kid.
Thank God for school holidays!!
I hope having Phil back will ease things for a while...best wishes
I followed you from Ishityounot's page, and thought I'd say hi. I'm online schooling our kids because the local schools were letting them fall behind and my teacher husband and I couldn't stand it. It's public school available here in the some states, only mostly on the computer. It's still a ton of red tape and paperwork, but at least they are at grade level now.
Any way...I hope things get better, sometimes, being a parent is not fun. NOT.
and I ain't afraid to admit it.
Honestly, you people, you cannot know what a help and support you are with your comments. Thank you SO much. Just when I think I am so alone I realise that I am not.
