Home Sweet Home

We got away about 8.45 this morning, missed a turn and ended up at Qurindi but turned back and only lost about 1/2 an hour.  The trip home was pretty good, we stopped at Coolah for lunch, I had a healthy sandwich, so, so sick of freaking Maccas and KFC.  We sat in the park and I had coffee from my "new" thermos that Phill got me from the Lifeline shop in Tamworth.  That thermos made such a difference both on the way up, with tea in it and going home.  I could stop whenever I felt tired and just have a small cup and a stretch without having to find a shop and park etc etc.  So we had a few short stops and finally got to Young where we got supplies then came home.  I was nervous about coming home, we've had so many dramas here, and the neighbours are horrible but we walked in and found the animals well cared for by Kim of all people (I'm paying her) and I had left the house clean and tidy and I felt good about being back.  We unpacked the car and I ordered the kids pizza but I made myself a healthy steak sandwich with lots of salad.  Back to healthy eating for us all tomorrow, will do Josh and I a WW salmon quiche and salad and whatever Em wants that isn't crap.  We did go out for dinner last night.  Phill's job got moved to midnight so it was great to go out to the all you can eat place again and have a decent meal.
I know the kids missed yet more school, only two days as today was the athletic carnival, but it was so, so worth it.  We were able to regroup, reconnect, relax and just have some fun as a family.  I feel so much better and more relaxed in spite of the long, long drive home.  I love driving and it was God's own country all the way home, we're so lucky to live in country Australia.  I had a lot of time to think and to process a lot of stuff.  Phill and I are back on track, I have realised how much I love and appreciate him, I don't know what the fuck is wrong with me sometimes.  He's not perfect, who is?  But he loves us and takes care of us and protects us and I can be such a bitch.
And if Kim is prepared to work for us re feeding the animals, we paid her generously I think, we can have  longer breaks away, which will be nice.  We're already planning more trips, to Dubbo and the Western Plains Zoo, to the Elvis Museum in Parkes and across to the coast.  NOT to Mum's though.
Now to bore you with all the photos I couldn't upload in Tamworth.
Emmy by the pool.

Dodgem!

Weirdos bringing their swimmers in from the line for yet another swim.

Bowling!  (Gutter ball).

Emmy has a go, she was really good.

Cocktail and Mocktail (the waitress spilled them a bit)

I got quite a few of these.

And a couple of these.

Our bbq burgers in the little tree covered grotto by the pool.

What a fun trip. Looking at the pics without my glasses, I first thought the "Dodge 'em" photo (2nd one) was a shoe. Then I put my glasses on and realized it was a bumper car.
