The grapevine and the vine over the pergola are turning red, I can't find my camera or I'd take some photos, it's so pretty. I love this time of year although it's a little warmer than it should be.
It would be stupid of me to think that a few days away has solved all the problems, of course not, but I got up with a renewed energy and sense of purpose this morning. Got the kids off to school with no drama and came home and got stuck in. I had a lot of washing from the trip and it had rained earlier in the morning. But the sun came out and I took a chance and hung it on the outside line and just got most of it dry before it began to rain again this afternoon. Got it all folded and put away and emptied the suitcase. Did everything but the floors and the bathroom and will get that done tomorrow. I feel so much better, in myself, and about everything that has gone on. Our first counselling session is April 14th, and that is just me for that day. Then I will go with Em the following week. I don't have a lot of faith in getting help from outside but I have a bit more faith in myself now that I can turn things around and heal our family.
I made the salmon quiche tonight and found a low fat chicken caesar salad recipe which was lovely and Em had that and we just had the salad without the chicken in it with our quiche. The dressing was garlic, lemon juice, anchovies, Dijon mustard, low fat yoghurt, white wine vinegar and low fat mayo. There are some clever people in the world who can make up these delicious yet healthy recipes.
I posted the little housewarming gifts I got for Katy today, but went out without my glasses and was in pain from arthritis in my hand. So I could hardly see the address I was writing on the box and had nowhere to rest my hand as I wrote. I had to get the girl behind the counter at the post office to make sure it was legible. Getting old is so much fun. not Kate will get a giggle out of it when I tell her, as my writing is terrible on the parcel.
So tired tonight, but much happier and more at peace.
Oh and a policeman came to the school today to talk about social networking. He made a huge impression on Emily (Joshua doesn't use it) when he said that anyone who wanted to "rape and murder" her could just look her up in the white pages, then use Google earth to find out where she lived and come get her. Seems a bit heavy handed to me, but she came home and says she has now set everything to private on Facebook and deleted all but close friends and family. I will check later but if this is true what a great programme for the police to be involved with. Teenagers just don't think things through, this is the nature of the beast of course. I asked Em if the copper was one we knew LOL enough of them have been to this house in the last year or so. She did say he looked familiar. Well we have to laugh don't we?

Where there is a WILL, there is a WAY Trish.
You seem to have found your way.
:0)
Life sets up roadbloocks and while they may set us back awhile, darned if we women will take it sitting down!
We choose a different path....the one that works for US.
(((hugs)))
Would you share that W.W.Salmon Quiche recipe with me?
You can send it to my email addy if you would.
Hubby and I love salmon. :0)
We definitely have to laugh at ourselves and the situations we get in, but its usually well after the event when everything calms down a bit.
I am so glad you had a relaxing time away together.
But what he said is true and has happened as you know...a scare won't do them any harm
