Harley got pregnant pretty well as soon as she'd weaned Noah, the kitten we kept from her first litter. Soon she got cranky with him and poor boy just didn't understand why his Mum didn't want to know him.
Since she had the kittens she has seemed a lot more mellow with him but he doesn't trust her anymore, and who could blame him? We've let him inside but he seemed to just want to sit on top of the nest when we had it under the desk due to Harley wanting to drag the baby all over the house. I figured I may as well have it out in the open again where I could see it better and intervene if I needed to so I let Noah in tonight to see what he would do. He ended up in there with his Mum and little brother Lucky and I got this gorgeous photo of them. Lots of other snaps too and a classic one when he must have stepped over the mother/son cat line.
Rowwrrr!!!
I have found this Christmas that in spite of the big ticket pressies we got the kids, and I don't regret that as it serves the whole family, I have had more fun and joy out of the silly little things I've done. Like the daggy pjs, the Pommy chocolate bars I got on a whim from the "imported" section of Woolies (must be lots of Poms living in Cootamundra or something for them to even get some of this crap in......Yorkshire Pudding in a packet mix??), the "stocking" I decided Lucky had to have even though he won't be staying with us, I got the cutest little gift bag for 50c from the bargain shop with a kitten on it and just wrote his name in texta and hung it on the fireplace. He will get a collar that we'll send with him when he goes to his new home. The kids have always wanted a gingerbread house, I always thought we could make one together but I could just see it now, with my patience and tolerance level. Gingerbread hell on the ceiling. So I got them each a little one that I will leave on their bedside tables on Christmas Eve when they're asleep.
I only sent out eight Christmas cards this year, six were to family. I was so happy to receive several from people I didn't expect, including my nephew's wife who sent a gorgeous Santa photo of my new great nephew Alex, and my niece in law Toni.
Another little thing. The plumber came about the oven and while I knew he would say we needed a new one (Yaaayyy) I also knew it would not happen before Christmas. He managed to get the oven lit manually, something we couldn't do the other night. I asked him what he was doing Christmas Day and he said he was going down the coast and not to ring him. ;)
I was so relieved that I could still use the oven and when Phill got home we tried it again to no avail till Phill tried holding out the striker handle thingy and voila it worked. I can nurse the freaking thing along till after Christmas but then I will be whingeing about it again. Plumber told me more lovely stories about Crazy Landlady like the young plumber who had his head down and bum up doing some work IN the house when a goat went for him from behind, and the plumber who had to do some work in the kitchen, dry retching at some rancid food, and he is a plumber who sees all sorts of disgusting things.
Yep, I'm getting a new stove for New Year. Or else.

Priceless pictures. :0)
All the warm loving things and giving of yourself to make things nice for your kids warms my heart.
Must be because I see you...in me.
Or is that ...me in you?
Congrats on getting a new stove soon. ;0)
Free ones are the best kind!
(((hugs)))
I'd give Lucky a loving home if I could. sigh!
