Beautiful People

I've spent the last four years or so feeling like nobody really gave a rat's arse about us.  The hard times with Phill's old job with the Mickey Mice when they just wouldn't pay us and he was away all the time leaving me to deal with people ringing up for money, the kids' troubles at school, then my tough decision to home school, then our move here and all the drama with Emily, which seemed to go on for years.  My own family were no help or support at all, and Phill's just seemed to be interfering, although on looking back I know they were just trying to help, and at least they DID something.
Then we moved in here and I found an angel lived next door to us.  And on Friday, my mother in law rang just to say hello and we told her all about our latest troubles.  It was good to unload, and she listened and was sympathetic and supportive.  Then yesterday morning the phone rings again and it was her saying Phill's dad had had a sleepless night worrying about us.  They are in their mid 80's, we are in our mid 50's, they shouldn't be worrying about us at all.  My father in law wanted to know when our car registration was due (it was taken care of in February) and wanted to come up and help us with it.  She asked for our bank account details as she wanted to put some money in for Phill's birthday which is on Wednesday.  I had to give her mine as the joint account is way overdrawn.  I suspect they will be giving us a helping hand with more than just a birthday gift, bless them.
Then last night I was talking to Matt, not whingeing, but just telling him what was happening, and he offered to send us money as well.  Of course I declined but his rationale was that Phill had raised his child since the age of four.  I feel so lucky that we have people who really do care about us, in spite of everything that has gone down in the past.
I can't believe the change in Matthew, but then he is 45 now and was just 21 when Katy was born.  But he is kind, and loving and supportive.  I know we'll always be friends now, I just hope he finds a good woman who appreciates him.  And it's good to know I wasn't totally wrong about him.
I haven't told my own family about the problems we're having but I know they wouldn't give a shit.
No calls about the boat yet.
The jobs that Phill said were a sure thing don't seem quite that now, I think he was just trying to make me feel better.  I would rather know the truth though.
And the adventure continues......

.....and yes, it truly does.

Each road block has us carving new paths.
Nothing remains a constant and there are no promises.
Hope your journey brings you greater rewards m/f.
It was nice to read that at this time a family member enters without knowing of your plight.
Those things always amaze me.
(((hugs)))

I know how you feel, sometimes here at nigh I wonder how I ended up so alone - once there was a noisy house...Luckily I have the two girls and two of my sisters - but apart from that if I dropped off the planet not too many would really miss me - but I remember just before and for years after how supportive you all were in here and now will thank you. I sure hope something works out for you all soon - I would like to be in contact on Facebook but I can't find you at the name I know you by.
