Emily Rose turns 17 and Autumn Arrives with a Blast

She knew she was getting her new phone, but the little diamond ring was a surprise and she loved it.  I so love giving my girls jewellery, I like the idea that they can keep it and enjoy it and hopefully hand it down to their own girls, as I intend to do with my own.  We went to Wagga and did a bit of shopping then went to lunch at La Porchetta, then came home and had a little party and the cake here.  Can't believe my precious, complex, difficult, baby girl is 17.  It's been an interesting time since the day she was born and doesn't look like changing any time soon.
Today we drove up to Cowra, at Em's suggestion.  I wanted to get out into nature, we haven't taken the boat out for ages, probably not at all this Summer, and haven't done anything outdoorsy at all either.  So we dressed accordingly, but it was so cold and windy we ended up just taking a drive around Cowra, it's so beautiful up there, and then found a new pub to go for lunch with was really nice, and Emily and Josh has this rapping app on their phones (he got her old iPhone so now we all have them) and recorded me and their father saying really mundane things and turning them into rap songs.  We were in hysterics, it was the best time, just like old times.

Just like old times.....those words brought tears to my eyes.
Happy for you where you are in your mind and heart today Trish. It's not all fun and games...this I sorely know.
Happy Birthday to your Emily.
