We had a lovely New Year's Eve. We all pitched in and made party type food and took it out by the pool under our new gazebo type thing that we put up for shade. We laughed and ate and swam. Saw in the New Year and Phill and I did a bit of late night skinny dipping. I've been threatening to do it since we moved in here, it was fun. I hope nobody peeked over our fence though or they would have got a shock.
Yesterday we did more of the same (without the skinny dipping). The kids are such good company, I really enjoy being with them.
The cats are so funny, little Violet is much more social, she actually ran towards Emily this morning. And on Monday night Harley was even letting Scout feed from her. I don't know if she thinks he is her kitten or what.
We finally finished the ham so I made a pot of pea and ham soup to freeze for the cooler weather. Ridiculous weather for soup making as it got up to 34C today but I couldn't waste it and had all the other doings in the kitchen for it.
The forecast for Saturday is 40C. I'm so thankful for the air conditioning in this house. I don't know how we did two Summers in the old house in Margaret Street without one. We drove down by that house today and it is empty which explains why Harley was able to hide out there. CL must have come to check on the place and found the cats there. I'm feeding Harley on demand at the moment just to try to build her up a bit.
We've got people coming to look at the house tomorrow so it's a good excuse to clean it up. I took all the decorations and the tree down on Sunday, and we took a trailer load of rubbish to the tip today.
I have no ambitious hopes for 2013, just that we are all happy and healthy, and that Emily will make a go of it at school. That's all I really want.
Oh and my Ipad which hopefully I will have by next week (it's my Christmas present from Phill).
