I didn't get much sleep last night and woke up still feeling dreadful so decided to have the day in bed. Busy times ahead as the school year ends, and we get ready for Christmas, also I still have to finish cleaning the house, we have an appointment with the school tomorrow and Tuesday a rental inspection, the first one we've had since renting through this real estate almost a year and a half ago. So I figured I'd rest up today and try to get better quicker.
Photobucket is quite easy to use I'll just have to get used to it, much easier than starting a whole new blog.
We found when we unpacked our Christmas stuff, that apart from much of it looking old and worn, we've lost our name baubles. When the kids were little I had a bauble in the colour of choice, painted with our names and they've taken pride of place on the tree every year since. I can't imagine what could have happened to them, unless Emily got to them during one of her meltdowns. Even so, five rather large smashed baubles would be hard to conceal. I've looked everywhere and can't think where they could be. But they are only things and I can get more done next year if they don't turn up.
I'm going to replace all of our little stockings with four matching ones, as mine and Em's have both disappeared as well, I'll get some glitter fabric paint and put our names on them. I still have Katy's stocking that I embroidered with her name for her very first Christmas, 23 years ago. And her Santa sack as well. I guess I'll save them in case she ever comes home again for Christmas. I still miss her so much, especially at this time of year.
Easy dinner tonight, will do fish fingers, hash browns and salad for Josh and maybe pasta for Em and me, Phill is working away till late tonight.
So Josh has taken over a lot of the traditional things the girls always did, like putting up the tree and helping to decorate it yesterday, and he asked me if he could fill the Christmas jars with the lollies and mixed nuts we always have. I like that he remembers little things that we always do every year.
Well I just had a bit of a snooze then a shower and put some clean pjs on and feel a little bit better. Thank goodness for cold medication.
