I think They Moved Cootamundra When I Wasn't Looking

To the fucking Antarctic.  It's still so cold here, still predicting minus temps for the next week.  I don't think it's ever going to warm up.  Barstards.

Today is Kate's 23rd birthday.  She isn't a child anymore, or even a teenager, but an adult and I still don't think she "gets" how much it hurts to have her so far away from me, and to not be able to see her on special occasions, particularly her birthday.  We sent her cards, we can't send parcels for various reasons to do with her mail system there, so I put a generous gift into her bank account on Friday night.  I've messaged her to ask if she received the cards and money but no reply.  Not to be daunted I then proceeded to post baby and child photos of her on FB and tagging them so they will also go onto her page.  Nothing yet.  So I tagged the one of her and I at her christening and named the church etc.  Now my Kate is a rabid athiest, a screaming, protesting, meeting attending non believer.  If that doesn't embarrass her into contacting me nothing will.  Yes I am bad.  I think she likes to put out the impression among her friends over there that she either doesn't have parents and siblings, or that we don't care about her, it's like she wears it like a badge or something.  Strange girl.  But she is my girl and I still miss her so much.  And I raised her to have better manners than that as well.  I don't expect it from my older three as they were mostly raised by wolves, but I was raised with good manners and I did the same with these three.
We had to go down to Albury to see about the car.  Typically Phill got his wires crossed and turns out the trip wasn't even really necessary, but we stayed overnight anyway in our favourite motel.  The weather was shocking, freezing and raining, it was snowing somewhere nearby the the wind felt like it.  The kids and I did get a swim in the lovely heated pool but mostly lounged in the room.  We went out for a nice dinner on Friday night at a nearby pub.  I have never seen a bistro so crowded, there was standing room only.  The food was okay and the prices too but don't know why it was so crowded.  Albury is a large centre and has a lot of eateries.  It was fun though.
But it was good to get home, the kids are too big now for us all to share a room, there was a little too much togetherness for my liking.
I really don't have a lot to say lately.  Off to the shops.
