Phill had to take the car to work. So this morning I absolutely had to go to the shops, needed things I couldn't do without, then realised I had no car and no cash. It was freezing cold and raining. I scratched together enough for a cab fare and mercifully it came quickly, but it was still before 9am. Got what I needed then had to wait for a while in the cold cab shelter to get home, things had gotten busy, they are a driver short and being Friday AND wet it was crazy. Finally got home and put a clean pair of pjs on and I'm settled into the loungeroom for the day with magazines and the tv.
Bloody washing machine had overflowed, well the sink had, someone had put the plug in and in that old laundry there is no bypass for the water to drain out so the dog's bedding was wet. It took me a while to figure it out, why the floor was all wet. I fixed him up, moved his hut and got him some dry bedding. Couldn't put his heater on because it had been thrown out into the yard (guess who?) and was wet. I had to put some sheets and towels in the dryer anyway so hopefully that will warm and dry things a bit for poor Maxy. I considered bringing him inside, the only carpet we have here is in our bedroom. But he's so used to being outside he gets funny if we bring him in a asks to go out anyway. Kids are still asleep, Josh didn't go to school, too hard without a car in this weather and with his ultra heavy school bag. Good news is that we've paid off the car as of yesterday, I thought we had another month. So now we can start looking around for a second car, plus consolidate some debts and get our finances working a bit better. I hate not having a car and it will be nice to have one of my own again.

Sounds like one of those days none of us like. :0( Into each life a little rain must fall...or so the saying goes. Did you bring the heater in? I would have...but that's me in a nutshell. ;0)
(((hugs)))Pat
I am so grateful I have my little truck..I hate depending on someone else for a ride and West has no taxi's.
Hate having to wait in the cold for taxis...and know how it makes you feel...getting warm in pj's sounds pretty good
