Here we Are in Bourke - Gateway to the "Real" Outback

Or so the sign says!  Phill has been wanting to come here for ages, we talk it about every Winter but have never got around to doing anything about it.  He has fond memories of coming here fishing many years ago.  I was keen because I've never been to this part of the state.  Indeed I had never been to the north or central west of NSW until I met Phill, who was born and raised in Narrabri a way eastish of here.
It's an interesting town, has a large Aboriginal population and a crime problem, evidenced by high fences around most of the businesses and homes in the town.
We are staying in North Bourke, across the lovely Darling River, in a motel but we have what used to be the manager's residence, a funny house, but huge and lovely and very comfortable and ridiculously cheap.  Phill got a six pack of beer at Nyngan and settled in to relax while I took over the driving.  He's in good spirits so it's not bothering me at all.  .He works hard for us and I don't begrudge him some fun and down time (this week heh heh).
Sunday morning now, we all slept well and woke up to a beautiful outback morning.  Blogger won't let me upload any photos for some reason, I got one onto FB yesterday but not here.
More fishing again today and some exploring, this area has a rich history
