Cruise is My Best Friend!

No not THAT Cruise.  He's just silly.
We packed up and headed down south on Saturday morning.  I have to admit I have been getting a little cocky in my driving on long country trips, which is a lot of my driving.  Just to go shopping in Wagga is a 200km round trip and most of it along long stretches of straight country roads where I feel confident and familiar having driven them for years now.
We took the same "wrong" turn that we did last time but it didn't cost us much time and we were almost to Yarrawonga when Emily and I got into a semi argument and I admit I was not paying attention to my driving.  Next thing I got pulled over and copped an almost $300 fine, and a loss of 3 license points (which bothers me more than the fine, I've NEVER lost points on my license in all of the 25 years I've been driving).  It was a wake up call for me, so all the way home today I had the car on cruise control.  It was actually better, as I could relax a bit on those long stretches and not have to keep checking the speedo all the time.  And we didn't even get lost today, well not badly anyway so we made good time.
It was nice to get away.  The motel that they put the boys in down there is very basic and every time we stay there we say we won't stay there again, but it's clean and right on town and has beautiful views of the lake.  I think it's a little bit expensive though so if we do go down again I might look for somewhere else.
We went and had dinner at the RSL club Chinese restaurant where we went last time, but on Sunday night it is a buffet.  I normally avoid these like the plague as they are usually full of ill mannered, greedy types, enough to turn your stomach.  Last night the food was almost as good as last time, but the piggies were still there.  We got there early and chose what we wanted and sat down.  Later the food ran out, but instead of sitting down and waiting for it to be refilled, these silly people just stood around with their empty plates waiting.  Ugh, won't do that again.
We walked across the long wooden bridge that separates Victoria from NSW, in the cold evening air and it was lovely, then ended up walking back again after dinner.

So tired tonight after two nights in a crappy bed, more tomorrow.  And the freaking cat is missing.
