It made no difference to my back anyway, it's no better or worse than it was yesterday morning. I got the washing out early in case the rain came back and saw the vegie garden and went straight back inside and got dressed and went out and ripped out all the tomato plants, the old cucumber vine and all the weeds. I found the parsley plant alive and well underneath it all and pulled a lot of flowers off the Thai basil. The rosemary hasn't grown much, I don't know what variety it is but it isn't the common one, the sage that Phill transplanted off the big pot is going great guns and now the rest of the bed is clean I can get some new seedlings for up there. Then I went around and weeded all the garden beds in the back, hammered in the stakes for the olive tree and rose bush that keep falling down in the wind deadheaded some flowers and went out the front and dead-headed all the roses there. We have a lot of garden here but it's not hard to keep tidy if it's done regularly.
That was my exercise for the day as I wasn't feeling up to going for a long walk.
The kids didn't believe that two of the kittens are the image of two cats I had when I was a teen. I got out an old photo album and showed them photos of my little Banjo (named after the poet AB "Banjo" Paterson) and Winston (we were learning about WWII at school) and they were amazed at the similarities. Then I realised I need to get all those old photos out of the albums they have been in for 30 odd years and put them into new, better albums that will preserve them. The only baby photos my older kids have of themselves are what I have and they might not mean much to them now but they will one day, or to their kids. So that will be my project this week.
I had some turkey mince out for dinner, and I made a point free tomato sauce and made 150g of the mince into meatballs for me with some lime rind and juice and garlic and white pepper, and had that with the point free spaghetti (made from some kind of vegetable) which I really enjoyed in spite of some on the message boards saying it didn't taste good. I made the rest of the meat into tacos for the kids, laced everything with pureed and grated vegies. Then I made some Pineapple Upside Down muffins for dessert with light custard.
I ended up making the weight loss blog, nobody is reading it yet and I don't know if I'll keep it going.
I slept from 9.30ish till 8 this morning, I didn't even hear Phill come home and get into bed (had the ear plugs in against my noisy teenagers last night).
I was thinking that we might take a bbq lunch out to the mineral pools today, we'll see what time everyone surfaces. Phill didn't get home from Melbourne till some ungodly hour. I have a lovely rib eye on the bone roast in the freezer that I got on special and was going to do that for dinner. We'll see, I'll check the weather forecast first.
