Chainsaw Head

That is my husband.  In spite of ear plugs well inserted his snoring kept me awake most of the wee hours this morning.  I ended up grabbing my pillow and finding a blanket and coming out to the lounge room.  It's not fair, I shouldn't be the one who has to flee my bed because he won't do anything about his weight/snoring or whatever.  He came home and had a few beers but then switched to wine which seems to be what makes it worse so that's going to end.  I'm also thinking of replacing the two seater sofa in the tv room with a sofa bed so he can sleep out there.  I sleep so well when he's away, our new bed is the most comfortable I've ever slept in and it sucks that I can't enjoy it.  I'm going to get proactive and research some other remedies, he has strips that he puts over his nose that opens up his airways but he doesn't think to put them on before bed and it's usually in the middle of the night that I finally tell him to use one and then there's the fumbling around for ages while he finds them in his drawer and takes it out of the wrapping etc.
I'm going to wait till he gets up then he can get Josh off to school and I'll go back to bed and catch up on some sleep.  I'll put a load of washing on first, so he can't do it.  He insists on washing on the "quick" cycle" and everything feels and smells like it hasn't been washed at all.  He's even been known to do a load without detergent so I have to do the whole thing again (even after it's been hung out and dried).  WTF?
Hopefully he'll go back down to Victoria tomorrow or Saturday to finish the training job they sent him there to do.  They brought the men home so they wouldn't have to pay them to cool their heels in a motel, but for two nights, and considering the cost of petrol to have them come home in the company car, and then go back, it doesn't make sense, especially as they had them in a cheapie motel to start with.  I wager that company will go bust before the year's end, they make some really odd decisions, I swear they couldn't run a chook raffle.
More bad news on our friend Dot whose cancer has returned.  Her husband Barry isn't one to "share" much but it seems she has been sick now for a year and a half and isn't doing well at all.  Seems she is bedridden now and he isn't taking any jobs that take him away from home which means it's pretty serious.
Also my darling friend Peg, who I've known for 14 years, we met online and she lives in northern Michigan in the US,  lost her mum yesterday.  I can't imagine how she's feeling and I wish I could be there to help her through it.
Actually, if a snoring husband is my biggest worry today then I have it pretty good don't I?

That " sofa bed " sounds like a plan. Now will he use it is the next question?
Mine wouldn't....thankfully snoring is the least of our issues. He is a light snorer ...when he does snore.
Sorry to hear you had sad news. Always seems to put our own lives in prospective. (((hugs)))Pat

there is a sleep clinic that will give him the test and see if he's able to take the sleeping machine thingy..which will help in diagnosing what causes him to snore...
