Slowly Warming

That's my meatloaf meat on the bbq, thawing out a bit.
It's a beautiful late Winter's day.  After us all being off colour with a cold, and then having the kids home for three days as well as Phill, things got seriously behind so I've spent the day catching up on washing and cleaning.  There was four baskets of washing to be folded and put away and I knew I had but a small window of opportunity before Phill got back from dropping the kids at school and propped on the couch, to stay there for most of the day.  He's the only person I know (who isn't bedridden) who actually sits down to listen to the radio.  He will stare at a tv screen even if it's turned off,  I'm serious.  And I wasn't having him sit there another day while I worked around him.  So I put one basket full on each arm chair and two strategically placed on the three seater so as to make sitting impossible.  I then proceeded to take my time folding and putting away, I would break off and clean the kitchen, make beds, take a shower etc etc.  At one stage he took a dining chair into the family room and sat on it and when I asked what he was doing he said he was "working out how to have the room".  LOL  I have to laugh at him or I'd fucking kill him I swear.  How I will cope when he retires is anyone's guess.  Yes I'm an intolerant bitch, so sue me.  He needs to get a hobby or something to do in that dream shed of his out here.
I pureed some cauli and broccoli and put some into a bowl to make a meatloaf for tonight only to find that the meat was still frozen even though it had been in the little fridge overnight.  So I set myself up out here to do some of my course but left my workbook inside and decided to not go there today and blog instead.
So the washing trick worked.  He went down the street and did whatever down there then came back and, (after I threatened to do it myself) brought the car into the backyard after he'd washed and vaccuumed it down at the carwash, and Armouralled all the inside and cleaned the upholstery and all the other bits.  It was filthy.  When we first bought that car we still had our old one, which he then took over.  I kept this car as new, I really took care of it.  Then we got rid of the old one and he just trashed this one taking it to work so I gave up.  But I couldn't stand the stench any longer and now it's lovely again.  He's going to work tomorrow thank God.
We drove up to Young yesterday and went out for lunch, and got another wooden bedside table to supposedly match our bedroom and the one I bought Josh when we moved in here, so the kids could have ours which match their beds perfectly.  When we got it home it was the right colour to match our bedroom but was a totally different stain to Josh's.  So I have to order another one, but that's okay, the mismatched one can be used in the family room.  We need to just get a sofa and a little filing cabinet for in there, and a new outdoor setting for out here and we're pretty well set.
Em finally had her hair done, and the girls outdid themselves as always.  They put a really nice brown colour as the base and then some fine blonde streaks with purple underneath at the sides and back, it sounds weird but it looks really classy yet still teen trendy.  The purple washes out and she can have it put back if she wants.  They straightened her hair and it looked really nice last night and even again this morning, I need to get her another hair straightener even though I don't like them much.  But she only seems to wash her hair once a week so it shouldn't hurt it too much.
I'm still not feeling 100% but keeping busy is best.  I'm certainly ready for lights out come 10pm or so though.  Josh is such a sook and I'm surprised he a) actually got up and went to school and b)they haven't rung us to come get him.  Pity the poor girl he marries is all I can say.
It's so quiet and peaceful out here, just the sound of the fish tank fountain behind me.  Phill bought a big fish statue thingie to put in it and feed the pump through so the water comes out its mouth, but it needs tweaking.  Or something. It'll come in handy for Chinese New Year.
