Session One - 19 to Go

Dropped the kids at school this morning and went down and got a big grocery shop.  Came back and did house stuff then had to pick up Emily at lunchtime to go to Young.  We had lunch and did some shopping at BigW.  I got a washing basket trolley thing, never thought I'd be granny enough to need one but bending down to hang washing is a pain, we had an old rusty one left at the old house and I got used to it.  Em and I got some makeup and a nightie for her and a book for me, and a bloody blow up boat with oars for them.  Josh looked at her like she was mad when we got home, like he's going in THAT in the lake in THIS weather!  I'll be fun when the weather is warmer.  I think.
So we got to the health centre and started our course.  A lot of the early stuff is familiar to me, I've done similar in the past, but I think it was quite boring for the three girls.  There are two of us mums and a grandma doing the course.  I can see where it's heading and I think it will get more interesting and even fun as we go on.  Emily will continue to get one on one therapy with her psychologist and I'm wondering if I should organise some therapy for me as well, on my own.  We got out early and got home way before the sun set (which was my worry as I can't see to drive in the dark).  We went out for dinner at the club which was really nice.  Em was on the phone constantly and got upset when we got home saying someone was threatening her by text message.  I put Phill on the job and he just swore and threatened to take the phone away then retreated back to his computer and the bedroom.  I could say I told you so but I won't.  I need to distance myself from the whole thing, including the teenage drama and let him do his thing.  Emily cheered up, as she always does, and I'm noticing she is learning to sort these things out herself which if she has to go through it at all, is a good thing.  She did not need that phone right now but he wouldn't listen to me.
Josh went to have his eyes tested, Phill took him and I wish now I'd postponed the appointment to when I could go with him.  The optometrist suspects he has a condition in both his eyes that cause them to turn the wrong way.  Most, if not all, of my children had turns in their eyes as babies which eventually corrected themselves as they often do.  His didn't and the doctor didn't pick anything up (the twit) which is why we went to the optometrist (who is excellent, I went to him for these new glasses).  He may have to have an operation to remove a tiny bit of muscle from each eye which is scaring him and worrying me but we won't know anything more until he sees the eye doctor on Augurst 8th.  Phill didn't get him to write down the name of the ailment so we can't even research it online.
Phill got the canopy he bought for the boat put on today and it looks really good.  We're hoping to get away somewhere this weekend to try it out.  We're brave, it's bloody freezing here.  I had more but I'm so tired, I haven't been sleeping well.  Going to watch Hamish and Andy and then go to bed.
