Long Fweaty Night

Em used to say "fweaty" for sweaty when she was little and cute.  I am having night sweats again for some reason, and Phill has started snoring again, then Em was still up at like 1.30am and dropped something and then Harley came and scratched at our door and wanted out at some ungodly hour.  All these things would happen just when I had drifted off to sleep.  I woke up feeling cranky and with a damp nightie.  A couple of cups of tea and a shower has me feeling marginally better but I am SOO glad we didn't end up driving up to Sydney today.  I can feel myself starting to crash a bit after everything that has happened in the last couple of months, I knew I would, it's my normal MO.  I'm fine while it's all happening but when things settle down I tend to collapse a bit mentally and emotionally.  That's okay, I know what to do to take care of myself.  Rest, eat well and just be kind to me.  I need to go back on some sort of menopause supplement.  I have started taking my other stuff again after losing the plot again when all the Emily drama was going on.  Also got some liquid fish oil for my poor painful thumb joints.
I spoke to my mother on Wednesday afternoon and that conversation went well.  She won't be around forever and she is still, and will always be, my mother.  I didn't stir the pot, no point.
Phill and I did some grocery shopping yesterday and then we took the kids out to the club for lunch.  I had steaks marinating in the Crying Tiger marinade, just fish and soy sauces but such a great flavour even without the sauce and Asian salad.  Phill brought the kids home after we ate and they had played the chocolate machine and then he came back and we had a bit of a flutter (and came out in front!) and had a few drinks and ended up ordering pizza last night, but we don't do it very often and a bit of fun was definitely in order.  Phill's off to work today but I have the car which is good.  The kids and I will bbq this evening, cold though it is, I have so much stuff to use up.
Will take Emily back to the doctor on Monday for blood test results and to get the clinical psychologist thing happening for her.  Then Tuesday we have to organise a meeting with the school to see what our options are.  I am trying not to feel anxious about it, and to just take things one step at a time.  I can see her slipping back into her old habits again, staying up most of the night and sleeping in till noon, Phill says while it's still school holidays to let her go, but the new rules have to start NOW and be stuck to.  We have to be strong and united and not let things go back to how they were.  At least he is home a lot more now which is really helping.  He's out there putting more shelves in the linen cupboard.  One side of it is more like a broom cupboard with so much space but no shelves.  We already have a broom cupboard in the laundry and I can't fit all the linen in the hallway one.
It's another sunny day today but it's eleven am and I still haven't hung any washing out.  The world won't end though.
The kittens are learning how to get out of the nest, heaven help us all.  I need to get a litter tray happening for them today so Harley can teach them to toilet themselves.  Only three more weeks till we can rehome them.  I wish they could stay like they are, they are so cute and cuddly but alas they will grow into cats very soon.
Ooops my battery is going....well not MY battery (although it feels like it) the computer battery.  I'm off.

Ahh too cute! Puts me in mind of Zak and his Fwab hunting adventures when he was little! (crab) in case you can't hear it. LOL Em is of course still cute, just challenging to you right now. I am in love with your kittens, they are so freaking adorable. I hope you are getting lots of adorable kitteny snuggles, just like I am getting baby ones right now. Babies in any form are soothing don't you think? Chin up my lovely! You are any awesome mama! Hugs xoxox

PS> I had to giggle at your battery going! Mine also was hitting red alert and I had to run and climb under the lounge to retrieve my power and plug it in out in my sisters dining room. Right about when the new brother in law tried to walk by with the baby! Woops! IT SO WAS NOT ME!!!

Night sweats are a sign of impending menopause...... or so I've heard. I'm getting them too. Getting old is a pain. But it beats the alternative.
