Busy and Happy with an Undercurrent of Sadness

I talked to Emily on the phone yesterday, she is still refusing to admit what she did re Josh and Facebook.  (She is also taking no responsibility for anything else she has done, it's everyone else's fault it seems.)  I said if she would just own up and say sorry we could begin to forgive and to heal but no, she just lies and then heaps more lies on the lies.  We all KNOW it was her, it couldn't have been anyone else, she was online when it happened and all the people she targetted were on her friends list and she had Josh's email password and probably his FB password as well.  I can just imagine the lies she is telling people about us and how things are at home, and I could care less what any of them think of me, but it's so sad for her that she won't get the help she needs unless she tells the truth.  And she is getting no help at all down there.  At least here we can monitor her internet usage, which they refuse to do, arrogant arseholes they've always been, and which is causing a lot of trouble for her and others.  We both feel that we want to just go down there and get her, but I don't know what the legal ramifications are yet, and my instinct tells me to leave it till after the court hearing.  I will get some legal advice tomorrow from someone who DOESN'T have a personal agenda.  I also think we should meet with the school to ascertain just how far she really is re her school certificate, whether she can catch up and what the alternatives are.  I believe the school owes us a duty of care to help us with this as she is still technically enrolled there.  Both Phill and I both told her that things will be very different when she comes home and there will be strict rules in place.  Josh still wants nothing to do with her, although on our long drive today he did say he loved her and just wishes she wasn't so horrible to him and so controlling (his word).  My little boy is growing up so fast and has an insight into all this that belies his age.
We had to take Phill to Junee for work today as he will finish here in Coota tonight.  Josh and I then drove on to Wagga and had lunch and did some shopping and got some great bargains in K Mart.  He got a lava lamp for $10.  His old one got broken (by guess who?) and it makes a really good nightlight for him.  I got a few bits and pieces for the house really cheap.  I got a little electric citrus juicer, as we have masses of oranges on the tree.  I decided to give our big juicer away as it was so large and cumbersome and a pain to clean.    And the main reason for the trip was to get some more fishies!  We got four comets but not the gold ones, two of one variety, tiny babies, and two of another, a little bit bigger and really pretty colours.  We let the bag with them in it sit for a while in the pond then released them and they swam about happily and we fed them and checked on them and so far they are fine.
And tomorrow, finally, we drive to Canowindra to get our boat.  Phill has talked about getting a boat since we first met, 18 years ago on the 8th of this month and now he is getting his dream.  It's just a little tinny but we're going to have so much fun in it.  It comes with the trailer and all the safety gear and if it's good as it looks/sounds we're getting a good deal.
I would love to get a tent and some camping gear before Summer starts.
Josh and I debated whether we would plant the vegie garden now, coming onto mid Winter or get the beds ready (they have retic!) for Spring.  Need to do a bit of research I think.
It's going to be fascinating this week to see what Crazy Landlady objects to in the old house.  It will be something really silly I predict like the silver beet and flat leaf parsley we left flourishing in the garden.  Or the bare space on the kitchen wall that appeared after she bought the very cheapest stove to replace the other one that covered said bare space in among the tiles.  Stupid cow.  Residential Tenancy Tribunal here we come.  We left the house spotless, the gardens improved greatly, we even changed the locks!!!  LOL Hope she snuck around there over the weekend to try to get in.  I can just see her jumping up and down and not being to contact the real estate cause it was the weekend.  She'll probably whinge about the basketball hoop we left attached to the stables.  I don't care, I have much more important things to worry about right now.

oh a boat! How fun! Your tip to Wagga sounds like it was a nice outing for you and Josh. I think it is good that you had the phone call - even if it is frustrating. Keeping those connections open for her while she tries to work out how to handle things... surely in the long run it will work out. Poor Josh - its all been a lot to live through!

Spiffy boat !!!!

Hope Emily gets the help SHE NEEDS and can be a member of your family on these fun excursions.
Trish, no matter how much we think so....OUR LOVE is not enough to get these behaviors mended.
Listen to old ma here. :0)
Emily CAN NOT be allowed to mis-shapen Josh's future and well being and be controlled by her.
Okay...I'll take my leave.
Take care, stay well. (((hugs)))
