Gremlins and Way Too Much Stuff

Got woken up when Phill got up about three to go to work, first by a loud bang like he dropped something on the wood floor, then after he left Noah meowing loudly.  He deliberately lets the cat in and then doesn't bother feeding him I'm sure.  So I had to get up and put him out and check all the doors were locked, and thought I may as well fire up my computer till I feel sleepy again.  No screen.  I could hear it turning on but could see only black.  I'm thinking that the new screen he put in is dodgy.  He won't buy dedicated Dell products, I think the batteries are crap too.  So now I'm on his laptop and it's got gremlins too, all sorts of weird things happening.  But at least I can see the screen.
I spent four hours yesterday bringing boxes down from the shed on the trolley but could only get them to the steps, not up onto patio until they were half emptied.  I just don't have the strength I used to have.  I probably threw away half of every carton.  We have way too much stuff, and this is after I culled while packing!  Of everything that could have been broken, it was one of the good Wedgewood dinner plates of which we only had four.  We managed to buy extras of other pieces at Myer before the pattern was discontinued but we could never get dinner plates.  One of the cups is also gone.  I found a place in the US where I can get a plate and even a cup and saucer, although we don't need a saucer and never even use the cups.
I got the wall unit set up but the book boxes which are stacked on shelves were just too heavy for me to lift down and onto the trolley.  I really want to get the bookshelf unpacked today so I might ask Josh to help me.  I have no car again so can't do anything at the old house (not unhappy about that!)
Phill got home from Albury last night, very quiet and not forthcoming about what happened with Emily.  I think he thinks pouting and not telling me anything is some kind of punishment for me for whatever he perceives I did wrong.  I did nothing wrong except try to protect my family.  He can sulk all he wants, I don't care and it won't achieve anything.  Being indulgent and feeling sorry for Emily is not what she needs right now, she's had enough of that.  They interfered and got her down there and they can deal with it now.  As I said, it's out of my hands now and there is nothing I can do, I've done everything I can.  Josh and I are so enjoying the peace and calm at home, and we'll take it while we can get it.  Amazing how much chaos and drama and unhappiness one small person can cause.
She might think she has it good down there, and might try to tell me what a "great time" she is having, but I know she misses home and misses me and that might be the only thing that saves her, appreciating what she had.  If she is on a good behaviour bond when she comes home, and I'm guessing she will be, the threat of going away, and not to cushy relatives but juvenile detention this time, if she bungs it on again might be enough to keep her on the straight and narrow.  It must have been so hard for her though, to see her father drive away yesterday knowing she couldn't come home with him.  It does hurt me to think of how she must have felt, she is still my child.  But it's hard to have a lot of sympathy for someone who continues to abuse me and try to manipulate me by email, and who refused to talk to me on the phone yesterday when Phill passed it to her.
Only a week to go till the end of term and in spite of everything I am hoping to be able to take Josh down to the snow, and to the movies and lunch in Wagga.  Joshy has never seen the snow (that he remembers) and they are getting good falls down on the snowfields from all reports.
The rain has finally stopped and we had lovely sunshine yesterday, didn't need the heating on till late afternoon and I got all the washing dry.
I'm going to try to get some more sleep.
