Well for a visit anyway. It's been almost five years since she left home and I still miss her. She's a grown up girl now, she turns 22 in September. She flies into Sydney on Friday night and will stay with my sister and come down on the train or the bus on Saturday. I would have driven up to get her but Phill has the car. He still hasn't found a house up there, and I'm glad and hope he doesn't. I'm sick of moving, sick of having no husband and no car and sick of the whole fucking thing right now.
I talked to my oldest girl yesterday, a long, long phone conversation. She was really frank with me, unlike her usually and made a comment to me that is haunting me. She says that she sees other young women out with their mothers and wishes for that. I told her we can still have that, we can't change the past and the huge mistake I made but we can build a relationship now as mother and daughter even though she is almost 32 years old. Mandy has moved out of Hugh Jarse's house thank God. There was some kind of incident which involved the evil step-sister (of course) and Jake went to stay with his Dad and Mandy has been staying with friends but is moving into their own house soon. I am SO pleased and want to get back in touch with her now she is out of that awful place. My boy Nick leaves for his first overseas holiday in a couple of weeks. Emily has gone to school for the second day in a row. Josh is just Josh and all is right with my world and my children for now. Except for not having a husband or a car. Or goldfish. I miss my goldfish, it's so weird going out the back and not having them there.
I think we'll go to the club for dinner tonight. And.......
BRING THEM HOME! NOW THEY ARE MURDERING OUR SOLDIERS IN COLD BLOOD. JUST BRING THEM HOME, IT'S NOT OUR WAR AND THEY WILL NEVER STOP FIGHTING IT IS A DEEPLY ROOTED PART OF THEIR CULTURE.
That is all.

I agree - listen to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmF16EQUDDc
As long as there is communication....there is HOPE.
There is no doubt in my mind that ALL your children have a place in their heart for you as you do them. :0)
(((hugs)))
The good thing was that we went there under the auspices of the UN, unlike when the US invaded Iraq and we just went along for the ride. But what is the point of us being there? Stopping terrorism? Fail! We have lost twenty plus of ours. God knows how many the US and Brit has lost. For what purpose? The money and lives would have been far better spent on intelligence and diplomacy.
