Frosty Wednesday

Em has been at school for two days straight!  Phill got her up yesterday, I had a lie in.  She got up the first time he called her and got dressed and he took them both to school.  Did the same for me this morning, cold as it was and they walked through the frosty morning as Phill has the car.  He also rang her at 8am to wake her up (she wasn't impressed).  I'm so glad he's on board with this now.  There will be more stumbles on the road to getting her educated but for now we're taking it one day at a time.  So the support is back with her and we're praising her and encouraging her.  For my part I will get in today and get this house running properly again, a calm ordered environment helps a lot.
Yesterday Phill and I drove up to Young (I wore my new boots and I love them!) and he got some stuff he needed and we looked at tvs.  We need a new one for our bedroom but decided to wait until after we move so it's less to take with us.  We had lunch at the Services club up there, they must  have a new chef as the food isn't as good now, in fact our little club here has better meals.  But we had a flutter and had fun and relaxed after all the recent drama.  We got takeaway last night and I think we will go out to the club with the kids for dinner tonight as it's payday.  It's been so nice lately not to worry about every penny and every bill.
We made the final decision at lunch yesterday that we will live in Tamworth which is a big rural city.  I'm sick of incestuous little country towns and the inconvenience of living in one and that everyone knows your business.  The kids and I will have better opportunities for getting work, part time for them while they're at school and perhaps full time for Em next year if she decided to leave school.  They won't have to leave  home to go to uni if they choose to.  It will just be easier all around and yet we're still in the country and not far to go to get to the bush and the river and the dam.  We can get a decent house there for what we can afford.  And I really want us to get involved in the community and find some extra curricular stuff for the kids to get them out of the bloody house and meeting and mixing with people again.
So, maybe tough love was the right approach after all, as hard as it was to do it.  Baby steps and taking the wins where I can get them.  I had a lovely moment last night I went in to check on the kids before I went to bed and Emily was almost asleep and I kissed her and sat and stroked her hand and she fell right asleep as I sat there, like a baby.  It was such a sweet feeling to watch her drift off.  I went and kissed Josh and he smiled in his sleep.  Moments like that make up for all of the hard times.
Okay off for a shower and into the housework.

I am glad you know where you are going to live in the future and have a plan.
I also am liking the parental support you are getting from Phill.

When children are asleep they look like angels despite what they have put you through during the day.

Tamworth sounds perfect...I love that part of the world - am not really a coastal person. Glad things have eased a bit
