I know she was 79 but she survived so much in her life I thought she'd live forever. The true glamour of the silver screen is slowly disappearing. The new so called stars just aren't the same are they? I wonder if she'll marry Richard Burton again in movie star heaven?
It's still raining here, I need to go down and get a drying rack I think. I got the kids off this morning and went down and got groceries then went down to get one of the tyres fixed on the car ahead of our big road trip. Turns out we needed two new ones and a wheel alignment. I don't know why Phill couldn't have done it before he left, I have so much else to do. They kindly drove me home and I'm waiting for them to come back so I can drive them back and fix up the bill. Then I want to clean the inside of the car and do some more shopping and post a present to Katy for her new flat.
We voted yesterday as Phill will be on a train on Saturday and I'll be on the road. Pre polling is a great thing, you don't get bombarded with all the paraphenalia and there's no line. Funny thing is that we have to choose a reason out of this list that is on the table where the scrutineers sit. This is the law. But why bother? As long as we vote does it really matter when we do it? Are they going to check everyone who pre votes to make sure they picked the right reason? I just can't see the point of it.
Nor do I see the point of Josh's roll call teacher hassling him for a note for his absences when they don't seem to give a rats about my other child's attendance. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.
We're all looking forward to going away, hope it's drier up there than it is here.
The kittens now live in the laundry, well the toilet off the laundry. Harley is acting increasingly strange, she decided, after keeping them in the nest since they were born, that she had to take them into Josh's room. They are so fat she can barely lift them and it looked she was hurting Patches when she picked him up by his neck. And I'm sick of her waking me up every night so they can live out there. They're safe and warm and I know Max will guard them. We're paying someone to come and feed them this trip so that will be one less thing to worry about. Usually I leave those gradual release feeders full of dry food and several bowls of water for them all but now they'll get a wet meal as well.

Do enjoy your mini Family Vacation.
I so agree with you about pre election voting. I hate those door bullies.
Have a great mini break and drive carefully
The voting at the hospital was a disaster for Chris -some smart arse kid with an electronic thingie came to the door of Chris' room as he was unable to get to the room downstairs to vote - Cghris has been enrolled since he turned 18 - is 50 now and when the young man couldn't find his name on his machine he just encouraged Chris to fill out a reason why i didn't vote form!!! I got angry with him because when Chris insisted he was on there and i suggested he go downstairs and find chris's name in the book he wouldn't budge so chris did not get a vote...because the electronic machine would not work - wonder how many others had the same.
