Clever Girl

Got a call from Kate last night to say she is being nominated for Young Retailer of the Year.  The awards ceremony will be held in Melbourne later in the year and if I can I'll go down there for it.  I'm so proud of her, she's got where she is all on her own and is managing her life well.  Just wish she'd eat properly.
Still gloomy and rainy here, Phill is mowing the lawns every other day it seems.  He goes up north early tomorrow and we will drive up on Saturday.  I'm going to forget all the drama of home and enjoy the 4 1/2 star motel and being with my family for a while.  The company pays for the room we just pay the extra for me and the kids so it will be a cheap break. It's a long drive, about 6 or 7 hours but that doesn't bother me, I enjoy driving and it's mostly country roads, only a few big towns to go through.
I'm so tired, bloody psycho cat was at it again last night, definitely going down in the shed tonight.  I'll need a nanna nap this afternoon I think.  We were going to drive across to Junee so Phill can pick up the work car but he's going to get the train across, I can't face the drive today.
I didn't do lasagne yesterday we made rissoles instead with grated carrot and pureed brocolli in them.  We had potato and pumpkin mash and silver beet out of the garden, kids had curly fries.  The apple crumble was good, Em made it.  I think the sugar and butter probably outweighed the goodness of the apple though.
Yikes, we have to vote on Saturday in the NSW state election.  Goodbye Labor and good riddance, and I was a labor voter most of my life.
Okay I'm off to the library, I have an overdue book.  Again.
