One of Those Days

Finally got a photo of Jake on his first day of school.  He's my oldest grandson (he's on the right).  My second eldest's boy.  He turns five in April.   Whoa, where did those years go?
We had a lovely day yesterday, we all went down to the shops together and chose our bbq meat.  Phill and I chose rib eye steaks and the kids got some marinated chicken breasts.  We sat and talked and laughed and listened to music then had an early dinner.  Those steaks are a barstard to cook, they're so thick, but the flavour makes it worthwhile.
Phill had a nice time.  Like his hat?
Look how big our pumpkin is getting.
This is the other little one.
Max's coat is coming back in nicely after his flea dermatitis.  The cure?  Apple Cider Vinegar.  Pity it won't grow his leg back.
Our tiny little misshapen cucumber.

Wish someone would put those pizza boxes in the recycling bin.   My little boy is growing up so fast.
I talked to my sister just now, they were with Mum for her birthday.  Jan told me Mum fell asleep a couple of times, once when she was mid sentence.  That's scary.
It's hard to watch a parent grow old and frail, because we remember them when they were young and strong and our protector and caregiver.
The house next door has been empty and for sale for almost the whole time we've lived here, about sixteen months but people moved in yesterday.  The kids say it's a teacher from their school.  Hope they're better than the ones on the other side of us.

So good to see Phil can clown about - he has good eyes you know...and I am so pleased you are back together. Sometimes with passionate people you have to go away and look at each other from the distance - as long as there is love there you don't always have to like each other...

Thank you thank you thank you! I just noticed my book up on your suite - I feel like crying - its been such a hard thing exposing my heart to the world and a hard slog physically and financially to do it - and just a little kindness like this has brought e undone...thank you again

It's been up there for a while, and it was no trouble, I want to help spread the word as much as I can!

And I kind of like seeing his cheeky smile every day too. I know I would have liked Don as much as I like you Therese.
