More Disaster

The earthquake aftershock in Christchurch yesterday while not unexpected was shocking to say the least and the news is just getting worse.  While New Zealand is a separate country to Australia, we always feel like it's kind of extension of us as it's so close and they're so similar to us in many ways.  One of my high school mates was in Christchurch just two days ago on holiday and they talked of staying longer, and are so grateful that they didn't now of course.  Don't know what will become of that city now, I certainly wouldn't want to live there.
And now the cyclone in Western Australia, not near Perth thank goodness where Katy is.
She phoned me last night to tell me of a bomb scare in Perth city day before yesterday.  I didn't see it on the news but she said it was quite distressing for her as a manager especially with some of her staff being very young, they were stood outside the store for three hours until after 8.30pm with all their belongings, keys, wallets, phones etc still inside the building after they evacuated, so many of them couldn't even go home.
Phill finally went to work last night but is due home this morning so looks like another day of Chez Phillip.  I think I'll go out.

Glad everyone is OK. We in the States feel sort of the same way about Canada.

I was more upset than usual. I mentioned on my "other" blog the night before that I felt it coming...I thought it was going to get us. :-( I am getting a little sick of my "feelings"

My heart always goes out to where there is any disaster.
Makes one stop and think...there but for the grace of the Lord...go I.
