Lovely Normal Day

I whine so much in this blog I thought I'd post that today I had the sort of day I have often dreamed about having.  Husband at work, kids at school, and me at home doing housewifely stuff.  I'm an old fashioned girl.
I finally got into Emily's bedroom.  Took out six plastic bags of rubbish and hurt my back getting in and under furniture to pick up and then vacuum.  Changed her sheets, dusted and polished and made everything nice.  Did the same in Josh's room but his wasn't nearly as bad.
Note lack of laptop and old fashioned computer.  Yep she broke her laptop three weeks after she got it.

We had to take the other door off the bottom of the dressing table to fit the computer desk in.

She moved the bed closer to the window and I admit there is more room in there, I just have to shift the bed away to make it.

That is her own work up there (the painting) and a fan from the op shop fills another space.  This house is pretty crappy but Em's room is the worst of all, she's such a grub.  I scrubbed the carpet and it came up okay.  I just know she's in there trashing it again though.  Well it's all clean anyway and I feel better.  Pity about the rest of the house!
I got a hair appointment for 2pm.  My hair was totally out of control.  I got them to cut it pretty short, Phill will get a shock when he gets home tonight, but it feels SOOOOOO much better.  And cooler.  Cut most of the colour out but that can wait till we get this car registered and sort out Emmy's birthday.  I got news today that the government owed me a bit of money.  I'm not going to tell Phill right away, will just keep it there for a while.
Got my glasses tightened.  They are so good down there, I wouldn't go out of town with service like that.  She gave me a free cleaning cloth as well.  Got Emmy some new sheets, she tried to stretch some single size sheets on her bed which is king single and they ripped.  So now she has enough in the right size.
Then went and got the coloured pencils they wanted, the good ones, which were on special.  Found a picnic rug in the bargain shop too, we're planning a pickanick this weekend if the weather holds.  It's been raining most of the day, but still so hot and humid.

It does feel good to get in there and get the rooms cleaned doesn't it? I just did the girl's room yesterday.. the messiest room by far! I got rid of everything that they do not touch.. and Mia had all these containers that USED TO have bugs in them.. emphasis on USED TO lol.
I mopped and vacced and cleaned the kids' bathroom, loo and basin. Caught up on so much washing too!
I know the girls' room won't stay this clean too long, but I will try and use incentives to get them to keep it that way.
Em is talented with her painting! I love it. She ought to keep at it for sure.
