That's Mum and my older sister Julie on what I fervently hope is Julie's first holy Communion or Confirmation or something and that they didn't dress her like that for no good reason. I feel the shoes and socks let the outfit down badly though.
But back to Mum, she turns 84 today. She didn't have the easiest childhood, her mother kicked her father out when she was little, she spent some time in a children's home, sufferred from scarlet fever and lived through the great depression. And I haven't had the easiest relationship with my mother. She can be cold and critical although she has mellowed slightly in old age. But she's my mum and I love her.
Happy Birthday Mum.

That would be your sisters First Communion picture.
Beautiful woman your mum.
Hoping I make it to 84 and beyond.
Bless her heart and many more birthdays to her. :0)
(((hugs)))
I can see the resemblance to you! I looked a bit like that on my first communion and like your sister only had school shoes while the others had good shoes - we couldn't afford them and maybe the same for your mum must post that photo
