Well That Went Quick!

Left Thursday morning, had two lovely nights at the Hume Weir in Albury but it went by so quickly and here we are back home again already.  Just as well, Noah got left in the house accidentally and we came home to quite a mess.  He was meant to stay outside and just Harley and Lucky indoors (with good reason as we found when we opened the door!)

We spent a hot afternoon lolling around in the dam, it was heaven.

Phill and the kids went off fishing at dusk.  Only got a dirty old carp though.

We had a swim in the pool, but we all preferred the dam.

Emily went down the giant water slide.

On Friday some of the family came over and the kids played with their little cousin Ashka, who's nearly 4 and like a junior version of Emily.  It's scary.

A bit of Grandma, Phill gesticulating, niece Nicole (Ashka's mum), sister Vonnie, her husband John in red and Poppy in the front.  We sat by the dam and had drinks and nibbles. 

It was just so nice to get away but it went too fast.  I could have done with at least another day to just chill, but as always we had to get home to the animals.

The cabin was good, the position great, just a short walk to both the lake and the pool/slide.  Only thing that got me was the dirty shower stall.  For a four star cabin and for the money we paid I'd expect it to be pristine.  Also I felt I had to wash all the cutlery before we used it as it didn't look clean, but that was no biggie.  Still not certain if we'll book there for Christmas, might do some more looking.  The cabins are very close together and there is no privacy on the decks at all. 

Having the family come to us was the best thing we could have done.  Phill, Em and I had gone shopping yesterday morning and left Josh in the cabin.  When we got back they were there and Josh was forced to talk to them and realised they are very nice people and are interested in him.  The kids have never bothered taking the time to get to know their grandparents, aunties, uncles and cousins.  They had a ball playing with Ashka and have decided it's not so bad being part of a big, noisy, loving, laughing family because that's what my inlaws are.

So now it's time to think about going back to school.
