There were cows on that hill behind the motel. They were there when the sun went down and there in the morning, Emily said they were statues. But I could see them moving.
The pool was right below our first floor room.
They took their water pistols.
It's odd that I know of the shortcut (found it by accident years ago). I am the one who always gets lost and/or takes the long way around. The shortcut takes us toward Junee but turns off at Bethungra and takes us right into Gundagai, but several people directed us to drive via Coolac, which would have involved us going up through Harden etc and onto the highway which would have taken us hours more by my reckoning. My shortcut is a much prettier drive and we got waved at by all the harvest trucks as well!
We had to drive home this morning as Phill needed the car for work but I'd love to go back and explore there a bit more.
I have a day in Wagga planned for next week, the movies, lunch and maybe the Oasis (pool complex).
Happy New Year everyone!
