I got the vacuum out the other day, and didn't realise Noah was still inside until I heard him carrying on and climbing up the screen door off the dining room. He HATES noise, will disappear as soon as the lawnmower starts etc. Harley doesn't seem to worry but wanted out the day I was vacuuming. But then at one point I looked down to see little Lucky curiously sniffing the pipe, not in the least bit phased. Little darling, he's going to make a great pet for someone, he is so socialised to humans being the only kitten, and he adores Joshua, follows him all over the house and loves to sleep on his lap, his palm, his head, anywhere.
We got our new stove today, cheapest old CL could possibly buy in town and the plumber came to install it. Phill and the kids were out on a walk when he came and I was still in my nightie so when he knocked I opened the door a crack to see who it was. He said "Is your mother home?" So funny, I told him it was the nicest thing anyone had said to me for ages!! The new stove isn't as tall at the back as the old one and for some inexplicable reason the tiles don't come up far enough so there's an ugly bare bit of wall above it now. Barstards. Not our problem and they can sort it out but I'm not happy and my kitchen doesn't look very nice at all now.
And the floods. The awful floods that have done so much damage, and yet so much good. Strangers helping strangers, communities banding together like never before. The overwhelming desire is just to help our fellow Aussies in need, but we're so far away and while we've donated dollars it feels inadequate. Phill's nephew and family were not evacuated after all and even though where they live, Goondiwindi, was under threat today, the river did not peak and as far as we know they're still on their farm, safe and dry.
I am so looking forward to a few days away next week at the weir. I just want to chill, read and do nothing and not worry about feeding anyone. Phill can spend time with his family and the kids can run amok.
Just Joshy and me tonight, Phill at work and Em is having a sleepover with her friend Spittin' Kim. We aren't happy for her to have sleepovers of any kind, and especially there but we're at the stage now that we're wary of banning her from anything. Right or wrong, we have to go with our instincts and for a change we both agree on this one. In any case, it's peaceful, Josh and I both agreed and it's nice having some time just the two of us, he's a funny little bugger and great company.
I got another letter from the medical centre urging me to see the doctor about my test results and I will but I'm not looking forward to it. But I'm not as well as I probably could be and something is definitely awry somewhere.

theHansMan acts the same way when I get the vacumn out !
Continuing to hope the floods subside. For three years in a row, we were in Melbourne at this time of year. Love that place ! Love your country !
Get to the doctor !
lighting candles for the flood victims..just so terrible.
You know where I've been for hours?
Re-reading your posts for the past four months on back to where you mentioned you were going to the doctors.
Yup...it's time to make that appointment Trish.
My hand flew to my mouth as I thought I had said " Oh,no" out loud when I read todays post hours ago.
I do the same thing as you m/f.
Put my problems to the back of my mind and go about thinking I am not just that important and it's really nothing at all and will go away.
You still have youngsters that need you m/f. (((hugs)))
well you've been fussed at about the doctor so I won't - glad you're having a bit of peace with Josh this evening. That sounds nice. I"ve been cooped up with little ones with some sort of flu, first one, then the next but of course that's the thing about a housefull the germs take their time getting around and I haven't left home in days... think I'm due for a bit of wine this evening! :-)
I hope you did actually sort out the issue and get to the doctor - but also I hang back and put it off as well. I always feel like i have walked into alien territory in a docs surgery -
