Yesterday I took down the Christmas tree and all the house decorations, went down and bought another big plastic tub on wheels and everything bar the tree of course, fits into the two tubs. Much safer and water and bug proof. I made lasagne for us, and a pot of taco meat for the kids with puree broccoli and cauliflower in it for their dinner last night and also to freeze for easy dinners later on. The lasagne was very good, since it was just for Phill and me I put a diced carrot and diced fresh mushrooms in it, as well as lots of garlic, bit of chopped up bacon, a couple of sprigs of thyme from the garden, two bay leaves, white wine, two tins of tomatoes, tomato paste and used up the chicken stock I had in the fridge. I sauteed the vegies in oil AND butter. Oh no!!! But it makes it taste so much better. I froze the rest in portions. I got a lovely piece of pork leg roast yesterday on special so we'll have that tonight. Not roast weather by any means but I couldn't go past it, it was so cheap.
Today I need to vaccum the house and wash floors, the place is a mess but the living area is so much lighter with the tree gone. I hate dark rooms. The kids live in their bedrooms with the curtains closed like little moles I don't know how they can stand it.
Almost 10am and still all is quiet. Phill's phone rang, for a job I suspect but he didn't come out, then his stupid loud loud message alert came on, still no response. I'm not going to wake him he must need the sleep poor old bloke. Sometimes I think he's the only employee in that company. "Can't get anyone else for the job" he says. More like they're all smart enough to turn off their phones. I don't care, it gets him out of the house and out from under my feet and it's all money, especially since we're going away for a few days soon. I can't wait.
Brothers. And we thought the kitten was in danger from Noah (Harley's older son).
How cute is that? Harley isn't always this relaxed with Noah these days.
Lucky let Noah try some of his milk. Not sure if he was just sniffing or he actually had a drink. He's bigger than his mother now!
My nephew emailed me some gorgeous photos of baby Alex yesterday, so thoughtful (no wonder he's my favourite!) including one in the Superman suit I sent when he was born. I need to reduce them though. Alex is the image of his father as a baby (who also unfortunately resembled my idiot brother, the living one). But he's a cute little puddin' nevertheless. I haven't even seen him in person yet, he'll probably be pretty big by the time I do. My sister got lucky, she got a grand daughter and a grandson all in one year last year.

I am totally smitten with Lucky and those pictures of him with Harley and mom are priceless.

Oh that is so adorable!
the cats are too cute...your food sounds delicious too
I love it when I see cats like this - this would never happen with my two - if they get too close they fight still
