Fluffy No More
Em wasn't well this morning, she threw up dramatically on the floor, ugh, and I knew she was a bit nervous about going to work with Julie after her drama at school. Julie is the last person who would judge Em or rouse on her and I told her that. Anyway I got her down to the new shop that Julie is doing the design and fittings for but the morning was getting away and I didn't know if I could get to Wagga and back in time. I decided to go home and phone a hair salon here, that we hadn't tried before, and see if they could fit me in today. Amazingly they gave me an 11.30 appointment so I raced down and got the groceries then fronted up to get my hair done. I can't remember the last time I got my hair coloured by a hairdresser, I used to do it all the time when I was working. I think the last time was just before Emily was born. I've always done it myself since. I was there for three and a half lovely hours and the girls couldn't have been more friendly and professional. They put foils in and I now have a really nice blonde colour through my hair and it's cut short again the way I like it. And it was way cheaper than I'd allowed for. In fact had I driven the 200km round trip, paid for my haircut and bought a streaking kit it would probably have worked out more expensive and with nowhere near the great result. I will never do it myself again, they can touch up the regrowth with just a few new foils every so often. It was lovely to sit there and get fussed over. I'm taking Josh there to get his hair cut next week and will probably get Em's done too before we go to Melbourne. If she starts behaving that is. I want to get her hair thinned out and layered and some foils put in to touch up the roots from the dodgy job the other hairdresser did earlier in the year.
