Melbourne Here We Come!

We've paid for the Aquarium and the Art Gallery (European Masters Exhibition).  So all we have left to pay for is Captain Cook's Cottage which is really cheap anyway and the rest of our accommodation which is mostly paid for already.  I think we've planned just the right amount of activities so we can also enjoy the resort and relax a bit together.  I have most of the petrol money put aside as well.  We're going to budget for one really nice meal out somewhere and self cater, and eat out cheap for the rest of the time.

I stayed in bed and read most of the day while Phill did all the work AND cooked dinner.  He does a mean Chicken Schnitzel.  I'm not sleeping well, guess it's a combination of things.  I didn't feel guilty, I'm learning fast!  I do it all when he's away and it looks like he's going away on loan again on the weekend for God knows how long.  I am reading a fascinating book on the death of Marilyn Monroe.

Another of our soldiers dies in the Middle East and still no uprising on the part of the Australian people.  How do I start one?  Or do we really need to be there?  I just don't know anymore.  They're saying that to train the Afghans to learn to defend their own place we need to be there for another 2 to 4 years and that we can expect another 21 (at least) casualties.  How can they be so matter of fact about this?  Am I being naive?

Rained all bloody night again and blew a cold gale all day.  Will this Winter ever end?  Will I ever stop complaining about it?  I doubt it on both counts.

What about the silly Pom who put that darling cat in the wheelie bin?  And then said "it's just a cat"!!!???  Cat lovers are passionate people, she has a guard on her house.  That little sweet pussy was in there for like 16 hours or something, it's lucky she survived to be ultra cute for the cameras.  Okay everyone doesn't have to be a cat lover but that is just cruelty.  I am not a "dog person" but I take better care of our little canine than a lot of people who purport to be dog lovers.
