Shrek 4 - Not the Best

Took the kids into Wagga to the movies to see Shrek 4.  Now we've always been huge Shrek fans.  Saw 2 and 3 at the cinema.  I loved 2, was disappointed in 3 and feel the same about his latest one.  I think the fact the donkey and the cat didn't remember Shrek affected the chemistry they had before, and also they seemed to trot out a lot of similar jokes that they had before.  We saw it in 3D and those glasses are annoying and I wasn't impressed with the effect and wouldn't pay the extra again.  I remember how in awe I was with the animation when we saw Shrek 2 on the big screen and I just didn't feel it this time.  The kids enjoyed it but agreed it wasn't the best out of the four.  I would like to have seen more of the cat, he's my favourite character.  I had a big one and a little one on my bed for ages before I gave them to Jake who had a mad Shrek thing at one stage.  He used to mimic Shrek really well right down to the Scot accent.  The big one used to say different phrases when you pressed his tummy.  Phill walked in from work in the middle of the night once and stepped on Puss and it said "Who dares enter my room?"
So it was a day out, and an expensive one but at least we got to take the kids somewhere during the holidays.
It's so cold and I can't seem to get warm.  I sat through the whole movie in my parka and I was still cold.  I have a cold so that might be it.  Em has one too and she slept most of the way home and as soon as we got home we both got into our pjs at 2.30.  Only doing sausages and onion on rolls for dinner tonight.

We've got colds too - haha maybe computers are spreading more than 'viruses' these days? ;-)
Shame about Shrek 4. But thanks for the heads up, I'll rent it at home with the kids and save the fees to see it out. But who am I kidding? I rarely pay to take them out to the theater - there are just too many of them!
