Em Tops the Class!

Awake too early again, snoring husband this time.  We've spent three mornings in a row cooling our heels in the school office, cool being the operative word, it's freezing here at the moment.  But true to form our wonderful teachers have put into place some things which have really made a difference to Emily and her life at school.  She is on a "safety plan" and her first full day back since the incident last week was good for her yesterday.  Unlike her last two high schools, this one actually DOES things, and doesn't just label her and blame her.  In our latest dealings with them we have heard our gorgeous girl described as "a good student", "smart", "delightful", and "liked by all her teachers".  These are things I never thought I'd hear about our Em.  I was dreading her semester report, and didn't even seek it out, as she was away on the last day of term and didn't get it.  Josh finally got given it and had it in his bag for a few days before he remembered to give it to me and when I sat down to read it, was astounded at how good it was.  She actually came first in art, with a 98% score.  Emily has never come first in ANYTHING, and to be honest I never expected her to.  I am so, so proud of her and how she has turned things around from her disastrous times at school in both Junee and Sydney.  She has put in the work obviously, but the quality of our school is what has helped her to do this.  Once again I am so glad we made the decision to come back here.
That's Em with little Harvey.
I am still struggling with anxiety and have got over my denial and have admitted to myself that I am suffering from depression and need help.

Congratulations to Em. That is a brilliant score. Focusing on what she does well is going to boost her self esteem, confidence and well being. It's great that the school is doing that.
I am really proud of you, to admit you need help is not easy. I hope you find it where you seek it.
