Better Today

We've decided it must be the dwarf next door who rang the owner, we checked and Em's window, that had the broken screen cannot be seen from the street as it's obscured by shrubs.  It could only really be seen from next door.  What her problem is I don't know, but it's just sheer nastiness.  Her freaking dog barks all the time, sometimes for hours at a time, and then the poor cockatoo that is cruelly kept right down the backyard joins in, screeching, barking etc.  I have been loath to complain but that's exactly what I'll be doing tomorrow.  If she had a problem why not talk to us?

I couldn't take the cold any longer, and when I read it would get down to minus 4 tonight I got in the car and drove to Young and bought a kick arse heater.  I got it on special and it's great, I can set the temperature, it has a timer and a remote control.  The kids could feel the difference as soon as they walked in this afternoon.

Got a phone call from the school to say Emily had been involved in a "scuffle" at lunchtime.  She's a scrappy little thing and won't take sh*t off anyone.  From her version the other girl had it coming but Em got in a few good punches.  Yes, punches.  I have never punched anyone in my life and far from condoning violence I am appalled, but if that's the only way she can defend herself I don't really blame her.  I don't understand what the problem  is, we have to go to see the deputy principal on Friday as tomorrow is her mentoring day and they don't want her to miss that.  She has a very sore right hand tonight and I told her that's what happens when you use violence to solve a problem.  She must get it from her father.  If nothing else these little bitches might think twice before bullying her next time.

Gosh I just went out to put Max to bed and it's COLD out there.  Two hot water bottles, turned his house around so the door faces in and stuffed in some warm towels on top of him and put the sheets I'd saved into the dryer so the warm air coming out faces into his little alcove.  I wish he could live in here with us, but we never could toilet train him and it's against the terms of the lease anyway.

But it's SO nice to be warm, we are so comfy.  The cats are stretched out like lizards in the sun and it's a balmy 22C in here.

And thanks to the lovely ladies of Cootamundra library I am now once again enrolled to vote.  I REALLY want to vote in this election but I am still unsure.  Any Aussies want to weigh in?  Come on, let's have a political...........no on second thoughts.  Tony Abbott is on Hey Hey right now and I just said to Josh "I'm voting for him" he said "what????" I said "well he's on Hey Hey and Gillard isn't, what better reason to vote for him?" Which means they're pretty much all the same, they all lie and they all let us down.

We lose net connection tomorrow until we reconnect with BigPond.  And since it's me who has to set up the new connection it could be anytime in the next year or two.  Try not to miss me too much.

I am really glad to hear you are warmer now. Being cold is really miserable and makes life much harder.

Its good that your daughter is sticking up for herself and defending herself. But, maybe self defence lessons would help boost her self esteem?

Hope you are back soon.

Personally, I can't stand Abbot, he is a dick head. I don't like politics in general but am exposed to it a lot as my dh is! So often in passing, I hear what is going on. The lot of them are like a bunch of school kids when they get to slagging off at each other.

I have not decided who to vote for yet. I was a bit put out that Rudd was usurped before his time was up. I did vote for him as I thought he was a nice person. Unfortunately it is not the person we are really voting for but the party they represent. And I don't see it as Julia back stabbing him as she did not vote herself in did she? I think she is actually a very intelligent human being. If you watched the parliament session where the boys were all having a go at her, she handled everything with absolute decorum and honesty. Kinda reminded me of a mama putting her kiddies in their place.

I would love for the Greens to get a look in but of course that will never happen. By voting for them we give the reigning party more leeway. Shame but true.

Gah I hate voting and the older I get the more informed I feel I need to be, unlike my daughter who just says, who are you voting for I will vote for them too! I don't think that is a great attitude to take when your life style depends on it, do you?

Now I shall climb back into my coccoon and come out when I am a butterfly! LOL One of my girlies is sick today and demanding i come and sit with her. Hope you have a great day.

Hugs and smoochies xoxoxox

I just don't want Labor re elected - there is something sinister as to where they are taking us...the greens leave me cold because of what they have caused to happen to farmers like Peter Spencer - and our local independent is anything but independent - so I am not voting for tony i am voting national and the coalition will get my vote not the person...good luck getting back on the net
