Well, we have decided which kitten is going to be a permanent part of our family. Meet little Noah. He was Harley's first born, delivered unceremoniously on the cold tiles of the bathroom floor when I'd turned my back for a minute. He is the most advanced of the four. He is eating and lapping and this evening used the litter tray for the first time! He is also sweet and loves affection. I hope we can find good homes for the other three. I think I will phone the pet shops in Wagga and see if they will take them. I am reluctant to have strangers coming into the house, especially if Phill isn't here, and what if we don't like the look of them and think they won't care for the kittens? If someone has to play $120 for a kitten they're pretty serious, and the kittens will be vaccinated, microchipped and wormed.
We got this great shot of Harley feeding Nigella tonight.
So they're all pretty much weaned, just have to toilet train the last three and they're good to go.
I finally got back into scrapbooking yesterday and finished my first proper page, a baby page for Alison Rose (who turns 31 in a couple of weeks!) I am happy with the result. It's going to take me a long time to do books for all seven kids, Sarah's of course won't be big but she won't miss out.
I made my chicken soup. Made the stock with the rest of the bbq chook, carrot, celery, onion, garlic, pepper and bay leaves. Then strained all that and cut up the chicken meat and set it aside. I sauteed onion, leek, carrot, celery and more garlic in butter and oil, then added the strained stock and some white pepper. I added the chicken back and some barley and simmered till the vegies were cooked. I had some for lunch yesterday but something was missing I felt. Sitting overnight fixed it, I did add a little bit more white pepper while I heated it up today and it was great. Josh came home from school unwell so I strained the solids from the soup and just gave him the broth and he had two bowls and declared himself cured. He loved it so I will make chicken soup more often this Winter.
Pizza tonight, I love Wednesday nights (every fortnight at least). We get pizza and watch "Hey Hey". I love cooking but it's great to have a night off as well!
Phill's off again tomorrow for a few days, Em is off up to Julie's, Josh to school for the last day of term and I'll be grocery shopping and hunting for some more scrapbooking gear.
I started my U3A course this morning, I'm going to really enjoy it. Did some more on Josh's blanket, that should be finished tonight or tomorrow night. I just need to get back to work on my book. Look at me! I'm creative baby!!!

I love Calico cats ! Well, maybe I should rephrase that...We had a Calico cat years ago that I fed.
Ah-Choo.
Is Harley a Calico ? I don't know much about cats. Ah-choo.
Is it true there are no male Calico cats ? Ah-Choo.
At any rate, I think cats are of a superior race. I love watching them and wondering what they're thinking. Probably something like, "Go get me some food, stupid."
Well, thanks for this. Yeah. Thanks very much for this...I now need to go take some Benedryl.
Ah-Choo.
sWaMpY, are you trying to sneeze that you have a cat allergy?
I have been told that the Harlster is a calico cat but I'm not sure I know what that even is. I know that there is a story that ginger cats are almost always male, perhaps it works the other way with calico (or as we call them, tortoishell).
I just know that Harley is a fair bitch. Dead set.
Cats are just lovely although I do so miss the old red kelpie - I imagione him sitting out in the grass thinking I can't see him but not realising his ears were sticking up
We are also a cat type house these days -
What beautiful kitties. Harley is most definitely a calico, classic coloring. Very beautiful.
I have several torties here and lots of orange cats, but never have luck with calicos. They seem to be more delicate.
Have fun with Noah.
