My darling inlaws dropped off two framed photos on their way to a funeral up north. One, a very large one, is of me and the kids at my 50th party last October. Now I planned that party for months. I had a colour theme, gold, silver and pink. I made a cupcake tower because I didn't want to do a "cake cutting" thing, especially as I'd thrown the party for myself. They were great cupcakes too, white chocolate mud cake with pink icing and decorated with cachous on a lovely stand with a gold "50" made out of pipe cleaners by my Emily. A "friend" who was a net friend, decided I had to have a cake, and drove all the way from Junee to Wagga (40 minutes each way) because they couldn't find the very large supermarket in Junee, to get a crappy $4 supermarket cake and then secretly got a very reluctant Em to help her decorate it with candles etc and made me have this embarrassing cake cutting thing. Anyone who knows me well can see the forced smile on my face as I did the cutting. I would never have refused, I am too polite. My inlaws know nothing about any of this, but I can't hang that photo in my home knowing what the "friend" later did to me. The other photo is smaller but a very unflattering (I think) shot of Phill with that smile he reserves for everyone but his family, the kids said that, I had only thought it.
Am I a bitch? Probably. But also justified. So what do I do with these treasures? I will hang them when the outlaws visit of course, but in the meantime they are serving a very useful purpose.
I am using them to stop the kittens from going behind the lounge. Handy huh?
