Seriously, what is wrong with them? And these are women, grown women who should know better.
Years ago, when I first lost all my weight I started one of the first Aussie weight loss blogs, and through it got to know a lot of other women who were also on the weight loss bandwagon. Many of them were not very nice and eventually I distanced myself from the whole scene and blogged in semi private for a time and then here. I am lucky that I don't get negative comments (I moderate all my comments) and if I did I'd delete them immediately. I have rediscovered a blogger who in my opinion is a lovely woman, her blog is very open and honest and "warts and all" and she is copping some horrible comments from other women about things that aren't their business to comment on. A lot of it is jealousy that is clear but really, why are women so judgemental about their sisters? Just because we blog about very personal things does not give anybody the right to give unsolicited advice. My approach to other blogs is support or say nothing at all. I'm not going to waste any more keystrokes on these idiots. Most of them are still trying to lose the same kgs as they were 12 years ago. Fuckwits.
So we're back home, and it's cold and grey and miserable, it was so much warmer up north. We had a lovely break away but very glad to come home even as cold as it is. We saw lots more emus, as well as wild pigs and goats. It was interesting to watch the countryside change as we neared home. It is lovely up there, but I do love our Riverina as well.
The couple who own the motel where we stayed were born and bred in Bourke and have done very well for themselves through sheer hard work. But we were amazed at how cheap the accommodation was and we had lunch at their restaurant, the food was amazing (and you know how I am about food), but so low in price, little more than what a meal at Maccas would be for the four of us. So nice to see successful people who don't have to rip people off to get ahead. And they are just the nicest people as well. We would go back up there, but for a week at least, and take the dog this time, he would have been fine at the house outside in his little kennel. Our cat never returned and we will not have another, it's too hard when they disappear which they seem to do with startling regularity. And she was mostly an "inside" cat, and inside every single night.
The trip home was good, and Emily behaved herself the whole time we were away and was like her old self again. I can see the light there, we just have to keep working to keep it burning.
I just want to give a shout out to my two blogger friends, Pat and Natalie who are both going through some tough stuff right now. Sometimes it's hard to know what to do to help and support people, I really struggle with that sometimes. Love you both!
And sue me but I'm so happy that Big Brother is back on the telly. Love that show, the whole family is hooked already and that can't be bad, something we can actually watch together.
