I was very grateful to see that Weight Watchers had posted a message on its Wagga Wagga meeting info on the website to say that the meeting will not be on today. I wasn't sure how I'd find out for sure before I drove the 100km there today. I was looking forward to going shopping in the city but found out that Young has a meeting at lunchtime today so I will drive up there this morning and do my shopping and weigh in as a visitor there. My own scales say I've had a good loss but I know from experience that the WW scales can be very different. In any case I know I'm doing well and I can feel it in myself that I have lost weight.
Phill said he was going to walk down to the paper shop yesterday and I asked him to wait while I put the beef in the slow cooker and I would go with him. He usually walks fast and I have a hard time keeping up with him but yesterday I had to keep slowing down for him. We got a good 40 minute walk which earned me 4 exercise points (which I never use for food, nor do I use my extra ProPoints that are allocated each week). I am quite comfortable fitting in my 28 points per day, and for two days now I haven't been able to use them all up.
The pullled beef turned out really well. I probably won't put it on the food blog as I couldn't really work out an accurate point count for it. It was a 1.1kg roast, and fed us well and I still had a lot leftover which I froze immediately to stop me being tempted to have seconds (and to stop Phill having a fifth burrito!) The beef was just rubbed with cumin, smoked paprika and chilli powder then browned on the stove, and cooked with tomato paste, beef stock and diced onion and garlic, for eight hours or so. I pulled it apart with two forks and we had it on burritos and tacos, and I made a fresh salsa with red onion, fresh coriander, cucumber, red chilli and lime juice with a bit of EVOO and some white pepper.
I was up at 1.30am to take Phill to the station so he could get the train down to Melbourne, then I couldn't get back to sleep. Em had woken me up before that talking loudly on the phone to Kate. That is odd, those two usually can't stand each other, not sure what Kate is up to now, but if she wakes me up at 12.30 am again I'll disconnect the bloody phone (her Iphone is in my name). Good thing there is that she will sleep most of the day and not be up to hassle me about wanting to come shopping with me because that is not going to happen.
I am going to get a few things for myself and some things for the new baby, I haven't really had the time or opportunity to indulge myself in buying cute little girl things yet, and all the Winter stuff is in the shops now. I want to get her a nice piece of baby jewellery, either a gold name pin or a little bracelet. Ali rang me yesterday morning, from work which was surprising (she is a teacher), just to say "hello". I was so pleased, this is a great sign in our relationship that she really wants me to be a part of her life and the lives of her children.
It's dawned sunny again, I'm off to get Josh up for school, iron my shirt and get ready to get out of here for the day.

At our W.W. Meeting we are told to use the allotted daily points or it won't work for you, BUT you sound like you are doing damned well! You Go Girl! (((hugs)))Pat
Nice to hear about your Ali...its funny we both have "Ali"s - Her name came out of the blue to me after she was born - there are no Alison's in our family -how was yours named?
I'm so happy to hear about Ali! You sound so happy! That make me so happy too!
