What a funny old day. We had a pretty lean fortnight and today was pay day. I planned grocery shopping and driving up to Young to lay by Em's birthday present. I had a bad night with Phill snoring so got a slow start. We got Josh off to school and I was in the shower when Phill burst in. He'd gone down to fill up the car, without checking the bank, to find there was no money to pay for the petrol. How embarrassment! I had kept some money in my own account, luckily, some of which I used for groceries and such yesterday and also had a bag full of gold coins so I was able to cobble all that together so he could go back down and pay for the petrol. The COMMONWEALTH BANK had stuffed up not only our pay but many others, yet again. As of now, 8.30pm it has still not been resolved. So Phill was flustered and while he was down paying, the school rang me to say that Josh was at school but it was the swimming carnival today. We had no warning, no note, no announcement at assembly (apparently). So Phill had to go get Josh just half an hour after he'd been dropped off. Then Phill walks in the door from the backyard with dog shit on his shoes and walks it through the dining room and into the lounge room. So glad we have wooden floors! Much more fluster and cleaning up. I just got the mop and bucket and cleaned the residue up, smiling all the while. I do love chaos.
I was kind of glad I didn't have to go out actually, I was so tired. So the kids and I stayed here all day, after I'd driven Phill up to Wallendbeen to get picked up for work.
I had to take Josh to the doctor this afternoon for his ingrown toenail...again. Lucky they were happy to give me an account as I didn't have the money to pay them! Doc has prescribed stronger antibiotics to try to get the infection cleaned up enough for him to have surgery next month. Poor kid, he's done the research and knows what is involved but it has to be done. They scheduled it for just before we go away but I will ring and reschedule so he can enjoy our holiday and swim before he has it done.
Phill made yummy hamburgers for dinner and now we are having a beautiful storm, much needed rain.
Em cracked it again tonight, I think I spoke too soon. Not sure what is wrong with her, we asked her but she wouldn't talk as usual. At one point she just appeared through the front door even though we didn't see her leave through any of the three outer doors. I went out the front and sure enough she had pushed the screen out of her window and somehow jumped the long drop onto the front path. Later I got a long winded email about her grievances. I feel no guilt and no responsibility, I've done everything I can for that child and she won't mess with my head anymore. I forwarded the email onto Phill and he agreed. She said things that were just ridiculous like he had called her a "whore". He can be a cranky and abusive bugger, but I've never heard him use that term about anyone, let alone his daughter. God I hope she gets on that train tomorrow, she can go down and tell the Hillbillies how horrible we are.
Uh oh, power going on and off here......I hope it doesn't g.................

Chaos can be quite exciting sometimes. I think its interesting how differently people can react to the same situation.
My husband can really only make hamburgers or pasta. The kids call his hamburgers, "Daddy burgers" so I am rather amused that Phil makes them too.
Hope the power-bill's been paid?
Hm! If Em had had to go to the same boarding school I went to for a year and a bit she would be pleased to be at home and crawling on her hands and knees to thank you -
Hang in there
