Oh Dear

Emily came and asked me to come look at something she'd done in the shed yesterday evening.  I went down there with them and noticed the little outdoor setting (small round table and two chairs) was gone from by the back porch.  When I got to the shed I saw where it had gone.  She'd done the whole shed up as a  rec room thing for them, made little desks and put old ornaments that were down there and bits and pieces around, an old blanket on the floor for a rug and they had their computers and games.  It actually looked really good, I wish I'd taken the camera.  She has a flair for decorating and matching and putting things in places that she gets from me.  I have always been able to make the daggiest of houses/flats/bedsitters look like home, and I've lived in some shockers.  I did have to take back one of my lamps that she'd taken from the dining room but gave her an old cheapie from before I replaced everything.
Phill came out this morning and asked where the table and chairs were.  I was hanging the washing out and I just said "Ask Emily".  LOL  Poor old Phill can't win.  He made it clear I was not to discipline Emily during the drama of last year, he decided he knew better (after years of never being around for them), so I just backed off and let him take charge.  So now when she does something when he's not here I just shrug my shoulders and say "Well you're in charge of Emily".  That silences him pretty well.
He's not getting much work so that is a bit hard, and all of us being here together is getting a bit old, but it's been a good school holidays because we've been able to go away and get out and about a bit more than we usually do.
I'm feeling a bit better today, have done the washing and am about to finish cleaning the kitchen, then have a shower and go out for supplies.  I even had breakfast, muesli with a sliced banana.
It's amazing how we humans can adapt. I am not living the life I want to live right now, but things could be a lot worse.  And I am learning to live my life as well as I can, find happiness in little things and look for some purpose to it all.  That is just how things are.  For now.
