True to form at least, for some reason I always seem to catch a cold in early Summer, God knows why, I don't go anywhere much to catch bugs except the supermarket and I always take my hand sanitiser after the big swine flu episode of 2010. I've got the ear thing happening and now the throat thing not to mention the nose which stopped me sleeping for longer than a few minutes last night. Phill was heading into a night shift though so we both had a sleep in the afternoon and although I had to pretty much sleep propped up I did get some zzzzs.
Now though I'm wide awake at 1am after he's gone to work.
With less than two weeks to go, Christmas preparations are in full swing everywhere around me. I just don't feel it, I don't. Em persuaded me to put some presents under the tree yesterday so I wrapped a few and tizzied them up and took them out there. I know she's snooped in my wardrobe when I've been out although she has no idea really, what is in store for her thanks to her indulgent and irresponsible father.
My biggest pleasure this year has been buying for the little boys, Harvey loved his gifts, and Ali finally sent me some photos, he has gotten so big! Also buying for Kate who spouts "bah humbug" but won't be expecting the little extra that she will receive from us. I spoke to her last night and she was sporting a massive hangover from her work Christmas party. This from the girl who vowed she would never drink.
So humid here, my hair which is naturally curly has gone ballistic, I don't even bother to blow dry it on days like this. Josh came out and said "Your hair looks really nice Mum". I love that boy. I look like a freaking poodle!
I put a slow cooker on lay by for Ali when Phill and I went up to Young. It's the exact same one that we have. I've been threatening to get her one for ages. I never did get them a wedding present, although we gave them a party for our side of the family just before we left Sydney. They will have it in time for their fourth wedding anniversary, better late than never. It will make her life a lot easier this Winter when she has a toddler plus a new baby.
Hope the rain holds off today, I have sheets to wash and dry.
