One Step Forward Two Steps Back

Or so it feels like anyway.  We were happily planning our weekend away and Em's homecoming, yes me with trepidation but also with resolve and a positive attitude.  Had a busy morning getting Austar connected, sorting out the boat and getting stuff ready to pack etc.  Then when Phill was down at the hardware getting shelving for the linen cupboard he got a panicked (??) call from his sister saying Emily apparently also now has "bail conditions".  Call me paranoid but it just smacks of them not wanting to relinquish control and a bit of the love of drama.  The claim was that Emily WAS given her bail conditions and other papers but that DOCS "took them off her" the night of the incident.  We went down to the DOCS office here and nobody seemed to know anything and they were nice but gave us short shrift.
We were wondering who to turn to next, nobody wants to tell us anything it's totally ridiculous, when we got a phone call from the case worker who initially handled Em's case ages ago.  She told us that they weren't involved in her case now as she was in the care of family, and Emily wasn't "at risk", and nobody from DOCS saw Emily on the night in question.  She also talked to me for a while and gave me some really useful advice and after hearing me out said there is no reason she can see, that Emily can't come home with us.  Who has Em's paperwork is any one's guess.  And who it was that called me in the middle of the night, the night it happened to ask me if Emily could come home is still a mystery.
If they hadn't gone to the courthouse yesterday nobody would have even had a copy of the AVO, and none of has any other paperwork except Kate.  I have never seen such incompetence in all my life.
So we'll be bringing Emily home, notwithstanding the Hillbillies putting up a fight, but hey, they're sick and they're old, I can take 'em.  I won't be happy till we have her in our arms and can bring her back and get her the help she really needs not just the soft cock crap that is going on down there.  She hardly even knows them, and she is supposed to be in the custody of her grandmother but is actually staying at Phill's sister's place.  Once we have her I know nobody will try to take her away and I know I have to stay strong and focused on the task at hand, getting her settled down again and into some kind of routine and finding out what is causing her problems.

I know you want her back in your arms( nobody can mother our children better than we do ), but I too would love for Emily to show her True Colors while she is with them.
Would serve them right!
It would shut their mouths up once and for all. ;0)

(((hugs)))

Good luck - after this is all over and Emily is a bit older and they can't touch you - you should keep records and make an official complaint about DOCS - they are out of control and all the good people there end up leaving because of their corruption. Have you read Sarahs Last wish? It has a website of the same name - if not let me know and will post you down a copy for anyone dealing with DOCS this book is a must read. The author helped me launch my book and now sells them as a pair - but i think little Sarah's story is awful and i do not know how the parents are still sane.
